Why were they out driving at 4:00 in the morning? I also have to wonder if drinking was partially at fault

Heading to work or home from work a possibility also. I remember working some crazy hours at that age.

Either way, instead of kissing them Merry Christmas they will be burying them. So very sad no matter the reason. The families will never be the same.

We usually leave home between 3:00 - 4:00 am for trips to avoid traffic. Maybe they were on their way to visit family for Christmas.
Regardless why they were on the road, a family is now in pain.

I drove often at 4am to retain employment. There are many legit reasons to drive at 4am. My son is a firefighter, sometimes he drove to calls from people with Covid who were told it was a hoax. We choose not to wonder about people who believe the unbelievable.
Also, one does not ‘have’ to wonder. We can train our minds for positive outcomes and possibilities. We can focus on lur own shortcomings, gratitude, acceptance, letting God, letting God or karma or fate…do the work for our wondering minds.

Why were they out driving at 4:00 in the morning? I also have to wonder if drinking was partially at fault so everyone on the road is drinking at 4 in the morning , I take first flights out in morning to airport (limo) you would be surprised how many people on road at that time and for many years I drove home to Boston for summer and started at 4 but regardless of that I wonder why a person would think right away something bad about a tragic accident instead of feeling sorry about it , I’ll do it for you , I’m so sorry for these people and may there god have mercy on them

We just had to leave for the Orlando Airport at 3 am.
There was just as much traffic on the turnpike as any other time. Don't assume something bad just because it was early in the morning!

There were driving north bound on 75. They were from Ocala. Six people in the truck. Perhaps coming from the airport to home or from a night of fun in Orlando. Either way, a sad outcome.

I agree. 38,000 traffic deaths per year. How does this qualify as news?

Some people leave for work very early. So wrong to speculate.

It’s a good reminder that we have to drive defensively on the road, no matter what time. My heart goes out to their families and friends.

I wonder because this is a terrible tragedy and the reporting is also rather poor. It seems simply to be a regurgitation of the police report and has rather few facts.

Reporting was definitely poor. It said a 22 year old man was driving. Any way praying for families.

No matter what death resulted may they RIP. I have no facts but generally we find people drive way too fast. Speed limit is 70mph sometimes other motorists pass us if they we were driving at a much slower speed than 70.

We lost our 42 year old daughter Stephanie on 12/08/20. What you said is very true.

I agree.
I will also say that some times, no matter how well you are prepared, nor how defensively you drive, the situation changes.
You stop or slow before a fog bank, you get hit from behind, or drive into a fog bank and hit someone else, you pull off, you get hit. It's no win all around. The same goes for misty freezes that ice up the road. All the sudden, you're in it.
