Early yesterday morning we headed out to Sanford Airport. Have done multiple times through this construction. Put on the google maps and as we were on 441 and took the new ramp over to 46, we wanted to take the toll roads (453 to 429) and back onto 46. The GPS did not give us the option of going through construction or avoiding it. It took us all the way to Orlando on toll roads then to Sanford. We didn't save anytime and got ourselves into a major highway. I didn't want that. What we think happened is the GPS avoided the construction and when we got on 429 it took us South. What is the exit to get off 429 to get back down onto 46 and continue through the construction in Weikeeva and beyond. Thank you.

The "Orlando" route is longer, but the same amount of time BUT a lot safer. :)

Take a look at your settings on the GPS, IMHO, select shortest route, then you can select no tolls, this 'should' take you on 46 all the way, or get you make to 46 if you stray off of it. I have not been to the SFB airport in over 5 years, so I am not familiar with the new roads or the current construction.

We go the airport several times a year.....441 - 46 - 453 (toll) - 46 - International Parkway - 417 - Follow the signs to the airport. Google maps has the route.

Also try WAZE (it is owned by Google) but WAZE seems to be much better at traffic & construction re-routing since it has been "crowd sourced" since it's inception. Google does that but to a lesser extent because it has far fewer participants in delay reporting. WAZE got us around serious construction traffic on 95N in VA while Google Maps still had us going straight up 95 which was backed up for many miles. I personally prefer Google Maps because I don't like the WAZE UI but it saved us at least 1 hour.

Jo Mar,
Yes that was what I was looking for 441 to 46 to 453 to 46. But in November I went from 453 (toll) to 429 (toll) then to 46. So I was asking for that exit number and would that be 429 East? Or do you not travel 429 at all and if so then what exit to go from 453 to 46? Since this time Google Maps went around all that construction we ended up going through Orlando. I would prefer to go through that construction verses 4 lanes of highway through Orlando. Thank you so much for your help and for other suggestions from folks.

If you were a Member of the Unique Travel Club you could fly out of the Leesburg Airport just minutes away from The Villages on your schedule direct to your destination with no connecting flights or layovers and would no longer have to drive to Sanford or Orlando.

He first exit, Serrano. Take’s you back to the original intersection where you turned on 429. Don’t take 429. Or you could simply get off and go back north on 429.

Sounds exclusive and expensive

If it's UNIQUE, it's expensive...

Yes it says 46 is closed when it is in fact open, this is very misleading!
