I'm going on a 3 day trip leaving from Deland train station. Is it safe to leave my car there until my return? If not is there a car service from The Villages?

And what if the train derails?
From online search
“ Do you happen to know if the DeLand Amtrak station has a long-term parking lot? We're in Lake County and are planning to take a train trip for a few days. Wondered if the station was in the kind of area that's ok to leave your car in for a few days (the Orlando station is not). Thanks!

:) I wouldn't do it. Been there and not much around it. Pull it up on GoogleMaps and see for your self. Straight out C.R.42 it's under 50 miles and approx. 1 hour. Drove friends there and picked them up 2 weeks later. Not a bad drive. :ho:

If you can have someone drop off and pick you up,it probably would be best. They better be good friends for the pickup since Amtrak rarely runs on time. There will likely be some waiting involved.

Down load the LYFT app to your phone, simple to set up and you can schedule a ride. I have taken people to that station...

Try calling Dave's Airport Transportation, 352-223-4696. I read they service Amtrak stations. They are a licensed & commercially insured private car service. Have a nice time on your train ride!

May want to think twice about leaving your car unattended in a remote location for a long period of time due to an increase in thefts of catalytic converters.

Amtrak offers a "connecting motorcoach service" from the villages to Jacksonville station. I've never used it but it might help. I think the stop is on 441.

:) I'm not sure but the stop was the bus depot at Spanish Springs several years ago. I would think the Amtrak site would say for sure. :ho:
