...Giant Sequoias can grow up to 8,000' tall
Which is twenty times the height of what everyone else deems to be the World's tallest tree (Hyperion, at 380')

Haven't read it yet. I'll have to check it out. Wouldn't be the first time errors and type-o's got passed the editor.

Actually “ Giant sequoias are naturally occurring only in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains at heights of between 5,000 and 8,000 feet above sea level.”
Growing in ELEVATIONS between 5,000 to 8,000 feet above sea level.

I miss those Redwoods near Santa Rosa, CA. We would go there when relatives visits and I would sometimes drive up there to help deal with stress before or after heading to see the Pacific Ocean.

Our Villages Daily Sun today does seem to suggest that these trees grow to 4000 to 8000 feet.

I bet planes flying around that area have to be really careful.
Do they put blinking red lights on the very top or just little Angels?

You should see the General Sherman in California in the Red Wood National Forrest. It’s 120’ around the base of the tree. I think you could cut a tunnel through it & drive a train through it!

No tree is 1.5 miles in height. You read something wrong. That would be 6x the height of the empire state building. Go check again. I don't even have to look it up to know it's wrong.

I think 8000 feet was supposed be elevation. I thought they was in South America, but must just redwood trees?

It is the preposition that is incorrect. It should be "at" 4,000-8,000 ft - not "to" 8,000 ft. We are from CA and these redwoods grow at those elevations.
