Why is it that there are some golf cart drivers that treat this motorized vehicle as a toy. A few examples would be the extremely relaxed way they drive. Flying around curves without regard for someone coming the other way, passing people on bicycles on the curve or too close to the cyclist. I thought this was a retirement community. What’s the hurry? Just a thought!

My guess is life is short so they are making up for lost time?

They are kind of a toy but some are careless. When in traffic or near people I drive different then when I am the only one around. But passing walkers, bikers and on curves you have to be careful. If I ever rolled my wife out of the cart on a curve there would be hell to pay. Also people aren’t careful when speeding by other carts.

what's the hurry? we are going to do what we want to do, at any speed. you do not regulate peoples desire to get someplace at your speed. just get out of my way.

Most of the speeders just have to pee real bad.

No difference with people driving cars.

Yep, that's what we do. We drive a car and never walk or ride our bike on an MMP.

The only time we come near a golf cart is when a MMP and our road intersect. Since we always have the right-of-way at these intersections, we do not look out for golf carts, and we have almost hit a few.

So you admit to being a bad driver.

Not looking out for golf carts is terrible irrespective of who has the right-of-way.

I think he's saying that he "brake checked" the guy on a hill, so he had to stop and walk his bike up the hill...

But then again, I am quite the "cunning linguist"!

So much for defensive driving. What goes around, comes around.

Speaking of this, where are all the "rest" stops on the cart path?

Things always are what they are-not what they should be. As far as golf carts, you will discover that the same people that are rude, for lack of a better term are rude in cars, in walking, as neighbors etc. We tend to notice the fools. We do not see that most people are courteous. Surely someone will post what the laws are. It is a bit of a reach that ALL PEOPLE, know what the laws are and an even farther reach that they will follow the laws.

A golf cart-you do not need a driver's license or insurance to drive one. The legal speed limit is 20 mph otherwise you need plates, insurance and a driver's license.

Aside-it is not just people in golf carts. I walk, ride a bike, drive a golf cart and a car. All have a fair percentage of people that are not thinking and endangering themselves and others.

If, you read the posts you can see clearly who the fools are. Right of way is actually important so all know what they are SUPPOSED to do. The golf cart does NOT have the right of way. There are however times where you have no choice. We have some truly INTERESTING drivers around here often the same people whether they are in a car, a golf cart, a bike or walking.

In life we are all headed for the same brick wall. Some people seem like they want to hit it real fast and real hard.
