No, 30 mph makes this a low-speed vehicle, and therefore subject to all of the requirements for that designation, please do not do it, other drivers have a hard enough time seeing a full size golf cart, you will probably be invisible to some. Also, I do not recall ever seeing a go cart with turn signals, headlights, emergency flashers, etc.

I'll laugh as you would be turned in and have a knock on your door within 24 hours of firing it it up. There is no one that is going to accept a go-kart on their street

Who is allowed to use the multi-modal paths throughout The Villages?” This is a question that the District receives on a regular basis. The multi-modal paths are for use by NON-AUTOMOTIVE traffic such as bicycles, golf carts, pedestrians, and skaters. It is not legal…nor is it smart…to drive vehicles such as smart cars, motorcycles, or mopeds on any of the multi-modal paths in The Villages.

I don't know why anyone would have a go-kart here as there is nowhere legal to drive it and you would have to haul it out in the country someplace or to a race track to even be able to use it.

20 mph is the top speed allowed.

Which is adhered to and enforced about the same/less than the roadway speed limits.

20 mph is the top speed allowed. NOT TRUE. LSV's with speeds not EXCEEDING 25mph (street legal golf carts) are specifically permitted on the MMP's. Actually, there probably are no actual LAWS involving MMP other than getting busted for DWI or DUI. Maybe unenforceable regulations but not "laws." You may want to read this carefully:

SHARE THE PATH INFO (https://www.districtgov.org/PdfView/PdfView.aspx?path=%27/PdfUpload/Multi-Modal%20Memo%20-%20Valerie%20Fuchs.pdf%27&ql=standard)

Or if you can't open the above link read the attached PDF from districtgov.org which is what is linked above. It seems you have to save the attachment before opening it.

On street, MMP not street. Now getting to MMP might be problem.

Licensed smart cars/motorcycle/mopeds, lots of the electric what ever’s on MMP that can’t be licensed. Like golf carts, scooters, UTVs, electric skate boards, and electric mini-bikes.

Over 25 is ???????, dunno, a slow car? :)

Over 25 and not registered, you are looking at a couple thousand dollars in fines. Actually it's "over 20 and not registered" but I know from someone's personal experience it ain't "thousands of dollars" but hundreds and if the judge wasn't nice you could even go to jail. Last I heard it was around $900 and multiple court appearances.

Before you take it out, you better check with the sheriffs department. Some people think that it’s better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. This is not one of those cases.

The electric golf cart Atomic comes with all of those features and more. I agree with you 30 is too fast for safety

You don't have to go the max speed, if you keep it at 20mph you should be alright. As far as avisibility it is no worst then low recumbent bikes. But it would be loud.

All diamond multi modal lanes in TV are covered under Florida statue 316.130. They are regulated by the state DOT, not TV development. This should help clarify their use and speed. Unfortunately there is very little enforcement.

CosmicTrucker

Just because it’s capable of a top speed of 30 doesn’t give anyone permission to break the speed limit of 20. I think the more pertinent question is what is the overall width and does it have adequate ground clearance?

No enforceable speed limit on the MMP. This does NOT mean the cart lanes on the streets. Just the paved trails and tunnels. They are not public roadways.
Only governed by Village rules, not law

Cart lanes on roads are speed enforceable.

I don’t know. But why would you need to use a go cart? Isn’t the normal golf cart good enough? Why spoil a good thing by throwing wax into the works for all the rest of the community? Why reinvent?

Something I’ve wondered about with LSVs is that are they allowed on the MMPs without being registered? Do they only have to be registered and insured is they are driven on roads? Would the police pull someone over for going over 20mph on a MMP? Do they patrol the MMPs.

What about a Smart car with a 20 MPH speed limiter? Or a Kandi K27 limited to 20 MPH?

Your last line makes it seem that your post is looking for humor. Show anger? Condescending verbiage. I honestly try not to stoop to that level.

If, you are really looking for an answer. First of all a reply to a cop but some pseudo-name on talk of the villages said............ A cop may not laugh but may pull out his sobriety meter.

If, you want an answer I would ask the police. I HIGHLY DOUBT IT IS OK
I've not seen any peddle cars, horses, lamas, camels either I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY ARE OK EITHER.

As far as police pulling you over for going over 20 mph. Perhaps our current moral system. Perhaps, our always moral system. Crime is only if you get caught.

As far as police and speeding golf carts. Perhaps a bit comical. Before a judge.
Yes, your honor, he was doing 25mph in a red Yamaha. How did you identify it was him. Well your honor he has a plastic corvette body on his yamaha GOLF CART.

Then it shouldn’t be called Muliti mogal path. Only restrictions are licensed motorcycles/scooters, and smart cars. but LSV are allowed licensed or not, cause when got all the free tax breaks they conveniently were allowed. Why parts of B/v, M/B, And el Camino Reno at limited 35 MPH and why nearly nobody drives 35 MPH down those stretches.
