In today's paper, the Parade section had an extensive look at Betty White's 100th birthday. Nowhere I could see mentioned that she...didn't make it. It's as if she is still living. Did I imagine her death a couple weeks ago? Hmm. Must be my memory again...

Parade Magazine is printed and distributed weeks ahead of time. During college I worked at the local newspaper. We received the preprinted items (Comics, Parade Coupons etc) weeks and sometimes months ahead of time.

Betty knew 2022 was going to be so bad, that she quit in 2021

Printed in advance, but in all respect, they should have canceled the story.

I have said this before but will say it again. If the paper had a living breathing editor mistakes like this would not happen.

No she didn't die (what the media wants you to think) - she and Elvis and the rest of the fine folks were spotted not to long ago at a waffle house just outside of fiddlers creek.

If who had an editor? Youโ€™re blaming the DS for a national publication? Have you been to a grocery store lately and looked a the magazines at the checkouts with Betty White on their covers celebrating her 100th birthday? Is the paper responsible for all of these magazines as well?

Actually, she lived through at least 22 leap years. So if you add in all of those days that weren't counted, she made it to 100. I'm giving it to her, she deserves it.
And for those who weren't aware, one of her favorite charities was pet rescue. There was a huge campaign for everyone to donate $5 to a humane society on her birthday in her name. Hundreds of thousands have done so.

Betty White had a stroke 6 days before she died.

Pretty much everything you see Betty White has been not cancelled intentionally. Since it was so close to her 100th Birthday all those salutes were left in place to commemorate and honor her. Including the showing in the theatres today, it's still happening.

There was a note on the front page of the Daily Sun that said: "Note: Parade Magazine was printed before the passing of Betty White."

The local paper does make many errors and was having a bit of fun at the same time. Lighten up.

I too wondered why they didn't edit it....guessing that it was already printed
and some 'suit' thought the public wouldn't notice

Oh for heaven's sakes you know she died. We celebrate Washington's birthday, and Lincoln's birthday,
does some have to tell you they died?

Yes, by convention she did not quite make it to her 100th birthday but, since life technically does not start at birth, she did make it to 100 years old (counting in utero time). To your question though, as others have already stated, the Parade article was most likely printed before she passed.

Nope. Parade is printed far in advance. It would be much to expensive to pull the story. Worked just as well as a look at her life and career. And I'm sure it has a living, breathing editor!

They knew people would know she passed. Simply too expensive and too difficult logistically to pull the story and reprint the publication.

If they did would they make so many factual errors?

She would have been 100 years old today January 17, 2022.
