There's a CVS coming to Magnolia Plaza, who cares, here's what I want:

1) The McDonalds (which is actually being built)
2) Chick-Fil-A
3) Cracker Barrel
4) Aldi
5) 7-11 (which is actually being built)
6) Elon Musk to build a tunnel from Magnolia Plaza or Brownwood to Orlando
7) Entry-ONLY ramp onto the Turnpike to Orlando from Meggison Road/Marsh Bend Trail. Traffic on 301 is dangerous IMO.

In time more will be built but you are all part of the entire Villages so jump in your golf cart and do anywhere you want. We like CVS and all my prescriptions are there. Gone to Wawa a few times for gas. There is no 7-11 but most gas stations have stores up north. With so much more construction going there will be more to come, they just don’t like to share info. It never ceases to amaze me how people obsess on what they don't have. If all this fast food and cheap shopping is really that important, then why did they not purchase NORTH of 466A ? Perhaps the need to whine is dominant.

We could use a Walmart (there is one in the NE, the NW, and the SE part of The Villages but there is not one in the SW) or a Lidl. And a Buc-ee’s!! And an executive course south of 44 and north of the Turnpike.

I don’t know the “rules” for build along the exits of the turnpike. Just from observation, I would say gas stations are restricted. They would compete with the service plazas. While I would like to see a Buc-ee’s, it will not happen on the turnpike. First, the “rules”. Secondly, the amount of land needed for a Buck-ee’s. The Villages owns most of the land around the Wildwood and CR 470 exits. They are not going to use that area for a gas station.

We drive 30 to 50 minutes from our northern home to Sam’s, Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and the commissary. Once a month, with unbelievable 2 lane to 6 lane traffic.

In TV we drive for the same shopping an hour, but two trips. Gainesville for Sam’s (bigger store) Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and any restaurant your heart desires. Westley Chapel for Costco, commissary, Italian Market, finish with Greek Restaurant.

We visit with family and friends on both trips. Enjoy different venues, 1-75 both ways. We rarely shop in TV, except for farmers market. Fast food is not on our itinerary.

I don’t shop with a golf cart, we enjoy driving, to other areas. Waiting for wants and needs for shopping is low on my list this year.

Why get prescriptions at cvs or Walgreens? Do you want to pay 10x more for your drugs? 20 years ago, I had a drug that cost me $107 at CVS. I went 4 blocks away to a Walmart and it was $8 for the same drug. Do some checking before buying your drugs. Now I have a prescription plan that I pay 1/3 the price of Walmart on 1 drug I take ($500 off a 3 month supply).

Simply enter/exit the turnpike on 470. Problem solved

The traffic at the Turnpike/301 exit has increased dramatically since they started construction South of 44. During the day it is challenging to go north on 301 after exiting the turnpike. When there is fog, it is like a game of chicken.

There needs to be access to the turnpike on Warm Springs Avenue. It would save so much time for many on both sides. The challenge would be keeping semis away from the Bradford circle which was poorly designed.

You don't need a degree to know what comprises a healthy diet. Just some common sense and an open mind.

1. Costco (It’s a stretch to say that Wesley Chapel has a Costco; it’s in Lutz)
2. Sprouts Farmers Market - I know, it’s coming to Route 466 & Buena Vista
3. Whole Foods - referred to (by some) as “whole pay check”

I am south of 44 and in just a “short while”, my vehicle will drive me to wherever I need to go.

The building of the many structures around 501 & 470 (and beyond to 301) will be interesting.

re: drugstores
I am sixty five this year and I am taking no medication whatsoever, and no supplements. I have no faith in medical practitioners - alone. I listen to many sources for health related information. Unusually, the supplement “du jour” for many is the one that I learned about four years ago.

I am not a Costco fan but very happy The Villages is getting a BJs.

It’s called “Eastport” and its being built just south of the new bridge that’s being constructed. That’s also where additional championship and executive courses are being built. All within 5 years.

I was going to say I read a town square was going in. When complete we will have 5 nightly venues for music. Plenty of choices.

So glad I bought up North where everything is at my fingertips and no bond or CCD, and lower taxes. It will be 5+ years before south gets built up. Sorry but time is limited now, no intentions of spending it in a car going to resource stuff.

I want to have fun instead!

You're right, and I'm surprised to see so many talk about what will happen in "five years" time. For anyone on the senior spectrum, that's a long time to wait. Anyone who thinks differently has not come to grips with aging or their mortality.

Everyone has different experiences. I have one drug that cost $19,000 a month and CVS charges $10 the first month and free the rest of the year so no reason to shop around.

Bought first home in 2002, never whined about when Home Depot and others would be here. Or didn’t worry about aging or mortality………..

Understand Saw Grass Grove will be a new place to socialize, many of us believe we are short changed a Country Club south of 44-- do you agree?

I do not agree. The country clubs are simply restaurants located at golf courses. Sawgrass will function quite nicely in that regard.

There are about 20,000 people living south of 44 - and a lot more houses being built. I am amazed that BJ’s is opening a store up north. There is a lot of competition up there - it will be within a few miles of a Sam's Club and a Walmart and an Aldi’s. If they put it down here, BJ’s would be the only game in town.

No land available down south of 44. Developers own it all.

I can see it now, an accident in that tunnel would back traffic up for miles. Worse than I-75 or 301 or turnpike. And there would probably be no way for emergency crews to get to it.

How about healthy organic farms/gardens for farm to table restaurants then you will not need any cvs drug pushers

I thought that was what The Villages Grown was for.

Doordash and online shopping are all you need

Do not understand why hoping new stores will come is considered whining by so many.

Personally like to look at the items we buy in a store and very often buy stuff on impulse.

Figure as long as we more or less eat it and enjoy it why not as long as we can afford it.

What restrictions on turnpike exit locations for gas stations? There are 2 of them at the 301/turnpike exit, less than 2 miles from the service plaza.

I could see a Buc-ees down 301 to I-75. I certainly wouldn't want one in TV. Its a great company though.

Best ? is where any new business will find people to work in this area. There is only farmland and TV in that area.

They will need to compete with new BJ's and other new businesses which are closer to Leesburg, Ocala and other areas which have more un-retired persons.

I’m disappointed that the McDonalds is going in. What a waste of a good site. I’m glad a gas station/convenience store is going in but much would have preferred a WaWa. I’d like to see a Jersey Mike’s.
A good breakfast place and a good sushi place would be great.
Hoping to see a Target or Wal Mart or both at the corner of Warm Springs and Meggison.

I'd like to see a Hooters. They serve great hamburgers!
The first time I ever went to a Hooter's with a couple of buddies in Chicago, one buddy asked, "How's the food?" The other buddy (who'd been there before) said, without batting an eye, "Better than it has to be." That pretty much sums up the food there for me.

Most won't know what this is, but an El Pollo Loco.
When we lived "up north", every time we came down to Miami we'd go to Zoo Miami. Close to the entrance was an El Pollo Loco and we always enjoyed the grilled chicken there. Healthy and delicious! Since moving to The Villages, we've had opportunities to go to El Pollo Loco in Orlando and other cities and have found the chicken to be nowhere good as we remembered - just too greasy. Not sure if the standards have gone down or our memory has made the place better than it actually was.

That was the reason we moved to DeSoto. Lack of big box stores. We can always and do, drive anywhere we need to go. I don’t want Warm Springs to become another 466 or 466A. 301 will be developed at some point but hopefully it won’t become another 441/27.
