Hi Everyone,
Does the Villages provide any sort of card or checklist so you can mark off which courses you have played? If not, has anyone created their own list on a computer that they could send to me?
Any suggestions on any particular order I should do them in? Whether I should start with furthest north courses, furthest south?
Cheers,
Dylan

If you go to golfthevillages.com and look near the bottom of the right-hand column there is a link titled "Golf Course Addresses and Telephone Directory", which you can use as a checklist. Right below that is a link to a map that shows the location of every course. Happy golfing!

Get a scorecard for every course.
Staple them on your garage wall.
Mark your score on each as you play.
(don't laugh, i golfed with a guy five years ago that did this)
(he is actually tracking each time he gets a birdie on a hole)

You start by making a plan then executing that plan.
It doesn't matter what everyone else does it's your choice unless you are a follower.

For Championships, I get a ball with the course logo for each course and put it in the ball rack. Good thing I got the logo ball from Hacienda Hills before the pro shop was torn down. Don’t know yet if you can by a logo ball from Southern Oaks. For the Executives, I have a map of all courses and I circle each course that has been played. Good luck with your endeavor and golf on : )

Wife and I just started in the North of TV, and played our way south.
Worked for us.

Many experienced golfers say it is best to play them in alphabetical order. That is how they were designed.

The alphabet must begin with "S". Silver Lake was the first course in TV.

I would start with the number one rated courses to the 4 rated ones. But that's because I'm a beginner.

I started by highlighting the courses as I played them on the Golf Course Map. But I also wanted to know how many times I played each '9'. So I created a simple spreadsheet. One tab for all the Exec 9's and one for the CC 9's.
In my first 16 months here, I played over 180 9-hole rounds, and every course except Sandhill & Sweetgum (they closed for maintenance when I got around to them).
Now I can check my spreadsheet and find the courses I've only played several times and go play them again.

Certainly there are courses that you have already played. Check those off and then I would play the courses you can actually get a tee time on.( A tee time that is convenient for you). It’s not the time of year to do it but I have scheduled two executive courses that are close together back to back. As long as the tee times are longer than two hours apart the system will allow it

I have played all 41 courses, in no particular order, and many during the summer "heat" season when you can just walk on. Looking back, I should have made some notes about each of the courses for future replay. Chula Vista is like playing in a park. Across the street, Mira Mesa has old oaks hanging over the fairways (really beautiful on sunny days) and multi-modal paths connecting tees to greens. Valusia's 2nd and 3rd holes are up on a hill side and the panorama view is great! Pelican is a "ball eater" - lost 7 the first time I played it but got it down to 4 the next time. With the Water Lilly bridge opening a year ago, it is possible to drive your golf cart to every course. The drive from McClure to Hill Top is 1.25 hrs each way - but I'm retired and the drive is beautiful!!

The Play History on TheVillages.net is a great way to track play for one year but the history rolls off after a year….

That’s easy, they said “what’s your credit card number”?

It rolls off sooner than that. It's by the number of rounds you have stored on Tee Time.

He must not have gotten many birdies.

In my eight years here I have played every golf hole in TV. Including all executive courses, each of the championship courses (Including each 18 hole and each 27 hole courses), the pitch and putt and the two putt n play courses.
You will run into some problems when a course is closed for maintenance for a long period of time.
I hold the current record of most rounds played in one year, over 1200 rounds including championship and executive courses.

Incredible... I am having trouble to imagine that much playing! More than 3 rounds of golf every single day... WOW! Just amazed by that statement. It should be a new thread all on its own!

The Daily Sun featured me on the front page of the sports section 11/11/2020.
At that time I had over 1000 rounds played and did a couple hundred more by Dec. 31.
I played as many as 11 rounds in one day when it was drizzling and no one was on the courses. I usually played 3 to 5 rounds every day. Everything was documented by the tee times office. Fastest round from tee to hole was Escambia in 26 minutes.
It was almost like going to work, usually first one on the course and played until almost dark. Met and played with 3 or 4 thousand people and 99.99% were very enjoyable.

I started in the old section then went north to south. I had a map that had all the golf courses on it. Played them all except the last 2.:icon_wink:

Another thing, you can go to almost any starter shack and pick up a Villages Golf Guide book with all the courses and their locations mapped out for you.

It is nice that you enjoy golf so much but I am not impressed with your "current record of most rounds played in one year".
I am what you would call a 'Purist', and our society only accepts rounds that are played where the golfer walks and carries his clubs. In addition, our society demands that we follow the Official Rules of Golf written in 1744.

Five hour round?
Not if you play like the old Scots. This is a video of me when I was younger.
