Covering is the best, but who runs their sprinklers to help save their outdoor plants.

Not continuously, hit the plants for a minute every 30 minutes during frosty periods.

Not a bad idea farmers do it to protect fruit from freezing and spoiling.
Seems like a good option.

I hope my recently planted Robellini Palm survived last night. I'm afraid to go out and look lol.

My Montauk Daisy (Nippon Daisy) survived supposed to show stress after frost, green and flowering. Still have Caladiums without the stress they were supposed to go dormant by September.

We were at a garden nursery class and my wife brought that up about watering plants, (flowers) etc. during a early morning frost.

The instructor looked at her like she were nuts.

Apparently, they never heard of that in Florida.

It’s a good idea. Can you program your irrigation system to do that? I’m certainly not going to stay awake to make it happen.

I was up................My Hunter controller has a button I can push and it will cycle thru the zones at XX time per zone. I have it set at two minutes..........This is an option so you can walk around and inspect your heads to make sure they are good.

It’s a great idea and I have done it several times over the last few years here. The temperature of the irrigation water is probably 50 degrees when it comes out. The only problem is the spray won’t hit the top of taller plants and that is where the damage from frost/ freeze occurs first

Yes I run my sprinklers to protect my plants & shrubs ! Works great and yes Farmers protect their crops with this practice… never leave the bed with a Wi-Fi sprinkler timer. Never miss a stroke

Be careful of overspray on sidewalks and driveways, even the street/gutter. Wouldn't want an early morning walker to slip and fall.

My plants need a good, hard trim and frost burn is one way to take care of my lack of bravery!
