We purchased a lot in Buttonwood in September. Our condo in So FL is under contract and will close the end of November; my wife and I will be visiting TV within the next two weeks to start the process of building our house. We will be splitting our time between Long Island and TV in the future.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.

FYI the neighbors in Buttonwood have had several socials. They started out as house parties. The number of guests grew quickly and required the change to a monthly social now held at Fish Hawk recreation center. I think they are held the second Friday of the month.
Some residents are playing pickle ball every Wed. from 3-6pm, again at Fish Hawk. Just show up and introduce yourself. It would be helpfulto take PB 101 to learn the safety and rules of the game.
Check with the Rec. Director at Fish Hawk for some other activities specifically organized by Buttonwood neighbors.
Welcome , hope you enjoy your stay.
PS. Neighbors share info at the Buttonwood pool.

Welcome to Buttonwood. Our Gardenia on Dorst Lane is under construction and we close in early December. We'll not be snowbirds until 2012 but we want to visit as often as we can in 2011.

I'm working in Connecticut through 2011. I've been ready to retire for several years but the last of our five children will finish her undergraduate degree next May and then we will have sent them all off into the world with no debt. The debt, of course, remains ours in the form of a large mortgage on our home up North. We hope to put our CT home on the market next spring and optimistically rent there until we can make it to Buttonwood.

Claverton is a dead eand street that Kincord Court intersects. I know one of the people on your block. Bobbie (female) and Mike. Great people. I have the Iris on Kincord. Looks like we'll cross paths sooner or later. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Hi Shrimpy - when you bought in May in Buttonwood, was the developer at all negotiable on the price?

I moved to Buttonwood in July and am very pleased with the area. We have men and women's golf leagues, a men's sobtball team is forming. There is a new crafts group at Fishhawk. It is a happening place. What will your address be. I wonder if you will be near us.

Where in Buttonwood are you going to be. We close in December on Dorst Lane and also are from Connecticut, Danbury to be specific. What part of the state are you from?

We'll be part-timers for at least a year.

They are not negotiable on new homes. No need to be, because if you don't buy it somebody else will be right behind you that will. The Villages is different than the rest of the country because it's booming here.

:wave:We just finished a Lilly in Buttonwood. It's on Claverton just at the start of the circle part of the cul-de-sac. We stretched both the front and the back and added a golf cart and a bird cage. We plan to be down for a week in Dec and then down after the first of the year for a longer stay. Once we sell our MI house we plan to become frogs. We look forward to meeting you.:wine:

Tom - She IS a real smart cookie. But some question her intellect re: another major topic............she married me waaaaaay back when! :)

Actually, we found a resale house in Duval that suits us perfectly. We're in the process of getting everything in order for the closing that's set for mid-Dec. So we're kinda-sorta gonna be in the same neck of the woods! She really liked the Pennecamp and Buttonwood villages but absolutely fell in love with this villa we found in Duval. Has EVERYTHING that was on her wish list so it was a 'done deal' in short order.

We're still going to be snowflaking for a few more years til she bails out from her work. Then we'll be able to at least make it down to TV for the complete winters!

Thank you for those kind words. We close on December 3 and will be here for a week or so. I expect we will call you to discuss home watch unless some friends agree to take on the responsibility. I hate to burden them with that but they may insist...:)

We are so envious, but happy for you newcomers. Can't wait for the day we can post "we're coming"!!!!!!!!! My goal is July next year, when I turn the big 7-0. Told my son, I want to be in "MY" golf cart, driving to "MY" house in TV when I turn 70. Still in good shape, but the Lord doesn't guarantee a day, so I'm anxious and have been since our first visit in 2005.
