We usually don't get such impassioned recommendations in the press, but it sounds like Webster is the place to go for apple fritters. I am always looking for worthwhile information.

You may also wish to check out Donut King in Leesburg,. 708 S 14th St. It’s near the intersection of 44 and 27.
It should be closer than Webster

I did some Googling and I am going to assume that you are referring to:
Dough J's Chicken and Donuts
155 E Central Ave
Webster, FL 33597
It gets a 4.8 rating from 223 reviews. Great reviews, not only for their donuts, but also for their breakfasts and their chicken. Thanks for the tip. I wish I knew this when I passed through Webster on Saturday. Looks like there is a bacon-caramel donut in my future.
You've got to admit, it does sound like a contrived answer.

Just my humble nurses opinion.... too many bacon-caramel donuts do not equate to much of a "future".......

Perhaps, a traditionalist but bacon Caramel doughnuts, doughnuts and fried chicken neither sounds appetizing.
In the future when they write our history perhaps they will write, can you believe they did NOT know salami, bacon, sugar and fat are good for you. Perhaps it is Puritanical what we are drawn to the medical INDUSTRY tells us it is no good for you.

Unfortunately the "news" is no longer the "news" it is a popularity contest designed to garner viewers to pump up the advertising rates of the networks. News died a long time ago when there were real reporters who did as they pleased. Now we have a bunch of "pretty people" and the right "ethnic choices" in the news media who are simply projecting their own, and their editors/handlers, politically correct and social justice perspectives. The true journalists of the 50's and 60's have left the planet and those who replaced them are spoon feeding the public what they want. The media wants to do your thinking for you. Good luck with that.

For a liesurely morning ride, By far the best bakery in the area is Yalaha Bakery. South on 27 out of Leesburg then left on ???. Google it. Not far from Leesburg. Massive selection of quality bakery items. I like the U-shaped Almond Horn and Almond crossant. They have non-bakery items too. Indoor and outdoor seating. Warning: They get busy.

I'm kind of a donut expert. From the pictures, I want to try this place. These donuts have what I look for- plenty of icing, plenty of fillings. Questions include are they quality ingredients and do they cover the bottoms with glaze/icing?

I can't hold back any longer!! I am a lurker and do not post unless I feel compelled to and now I do!
Their Apple Fritters are to die for! Cooked perfectly with a little crunch of the crust with tasty bites of fresh apple cooked inside! I am drooling!! Their donuts are cooked fresh daily. Hours are kind of weird sometime but check their Facebook page, if you are on FB. They also have a Brooksville location.
They also have daily specials and their home cooked fried Pork Chops are so very good. They have what they call a side called "Greens Medley" that is a combo of collards and cabbage.
