I was told there is a difference in prices between the Walmart in TV,
compared to the Walmart on Hy. 441?
TV Walmart charges more because it's in TV.
Any Walmart shoppers notice this?
Thanks

I haven’t, but the one on the south end of 441 is a pit and we don’t feel safe over there. The one on the north side is too far.

I have never shopped Walmart until they built the one in the Wedgewood Lane area. Their produce is excellent. I shop for fruit and vegetables there.

Some seem to be paranoid, the world is picking on the villages, or at least the State of Florida. Truly it is simple. If, it is not worth what they are asking don't buy it. If, it is a few cents cheaper at another store, is it worth the gas, the wear and tear on your car, your time to drive there? Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn't.

I've been shopping there for 3 years now and have never felt unsafe. Have never witnessed a physical altercation or even a loud argument. It is an old store that shows its age and really should be torn down and rebuilt.

If you really need to know, you can buy 10 items at one store, and then shop for same at other. Or You can put an app on your phone, to compare price. Scan barcode and in a second gives you cost at what stores you have added. Rarely shop at Walmart. But prices do come up on my app.

We shop at the 2 Walmarts you can get to by golf cart. The one on Wedgewood is nicer but if we are going to Lowes as well we will cross over the Spanish Springs bridge and shop at that Walmart. Never looked or noticed price differences.

Stores are different sizes, have different tax obligations to different towns, the states have different wage and labor requirements, distribution costs more in those towns, and so on and so forth.

For the same reason every publix has different pricing. This is part of the retail business. You price based on demographics. Considering people pay what is considered ridiculous amounts of money for certain jobs (trust me I understand why) that effects the overall market. I've heard it many times "oh the villages? those people are loaded" that's because of the spending here. whether it is ridiculous or not, in the entire market it does lean in that area, so when the pricing team in retail sees that up go the prices.
I see tons of people at Walmart, trust me I'm pretty price aware for the most part you aren't getting any deals no matter what the sign says LOL. When we were in Brevard county I would drive an extra 5 minutes to change publix because the price of a ribeye went down $4 per pound. it's all about where you live.

I used to work at the Walmart TV. The prices are about $3 higher than 441 store. They won’t match the price of the 441 store. They say it’s because they are on The Villages property and have to pay The Villages rent & percentage of profits, etc….
There is also a sales tax difference from 1 store to the other.

Hilarious put I'll give their first Opie credit for not realizing the world is different from one corner to another. Did you ever drive by two gas stations and they had totally different prices even though they were virtually across the street from each other.? But I guess you're really complaining that things cost more in the Villages because you were richer. That's not just one of the reasons but because of the rents for the land etc etc I can also tell you that if you got a Taco Bell in Leesburg Central it's $0.30 cheaper for a taco and if you go to the new one that was built all the way down towards the turnpike because it cost a million that was more to build the newer one .
The Walmart in Leesburg was I believe a Kmart 20 plus years ago and I'm sure they leased it at rates that Realtors would probably go crazy for today. I've never felt unsafe at this Walmart in Leesburg or any other since they are extremely busy with people coming and going all day long. Yes it's not as great or new looking but I'm very used to where everything is and luckily for me there's a lot less AAA personality Villagers shopping in Leesburg . You would not believe the crazy drivers trying to park and do 50 miles an hour in The Villages Walmart parking lots you literally take your life in your hands

I’ve shopped at the Walmarts on 441 Summerfield, 466, 466A Colony and 441 Leesburg depending on where I’m going. I don’t take notice to all the items I’m buying, but the items I buy most frequently are prices the same in all four stores. People think stores in The Villages charge more because the people in The Villages are “rich”; BS is some of the stores and restaurants charge more here, it’s because the rents are higher - - - location, location, location.

Topspinmo, You do realize the people don’t come to the OR with clothes on much less they’re phones.
They don’t see race, Financial background or their religious beliefs, and sometime the Shooter.
What they see is a person that could die and they need to fix them.

[There are some Walmarts that are called Neighborhood Walmarts, which is privately owned and smaller. They only sell food products, and has a pharmacy. I have one in my area, and noticed the prices are higher than the Super Walmart centers. I did question the manager, and he explained that the privately owned ones can charge whatever they want. An example, .75 cents more on a gallon of milk. As for Publix, I've been to the one in TV and in my area an hour away, and didn't find no price differences in products.

Having worked in the supermarket corporate, I came to see two things, the first is that prices ARE determined by location, its what the location will bear, the prices in Boca Raton will be higher than TV, the prices in the inner city or poorer locations will be lower, its just the way it works, second, a lot of supermarkets pay rent, even though they own the property, the rents are paid to trust funds for the children and grandchildren of the owners........its just the way it works.........sorry to burst a bubble

True.
In general though you're going to pay less at Wal-mart than at Publix, and less at Aldi than at Wal-mart. But other than savings, you're going to get less in other areas that impact how we shop as well. Publix has just about everything including knowledgeable store personnel, nice wide aisles, display layouts that make sense and are easy to reach, and (on the whole) polite shoppers, but
those perks cost money and that money comes from increased prices. Wal-mart means lower prices but also narrow aisles, people pawing over the produce that from the looks of them you should be social-distancing maybe 20 feet instead of six, narrow aisles with merchandise often stacked beyond your reach (and no store clerk available to help you), etc. Aldi lowest price of all, by a lot, but a VERY limited selection.
That's one of the nice things about TV. If the stores you shop at are close to one another (Wal-Mart, Publix and Aldi all in the space of less than a mile drive) you can comparison-shop and save some real money by so doing.

Prices do vary based on demographics. We've been going to the one in Leesburg on 441. I've read some of the comments below and can honestly state we haven't had any issues there. It's a much larger store than the others albeit older. The prices on many products at that location are less than the two in TV

Yes very true. Regardless of your choice Walmart prices vs competition. Little or no competition means higher prices.(and why wouldn’t they). No competition means no reason for extra discount. If you travel much it becomes very clear when shopping at Walmart.

This IS the definitive answer. To expand on this, Walmart posts their prices for each location online. No need to speculate. All you need to do is open up the Walmart app and check the price at the two locations you are concerned about.

Exactly. If an Aldi or Lidl is nearby, and often they are build within a block or two, that Walmart will have lower prices on eggs, milk and other items that the competition carries. Eggs can be half the price of other nearby Walmarts versus the Walmart next to an Aldi or other discount grocery.
You can use the Walmart app to plan your shopping trip. Load up a shopping cart as if you are going to do a pickup. Then back out of the cart and change the store for pickup. Then look in the cart gain and you will see the prices changed to reflect the new store's prices. I do this every time I shop.
The Walmart App used to be easier to compare prices because you could pick a single item, like 36ct eggs, and then immediately do a "find in nearby stores" and you would see the price for the 36ct eggs at the six closest Walmarts. However, Walmart changed the App and it is not a easy as before. In fact, there was a period at the beginning of the new App version where you couldn't even do the cart comparison I described in the 2nd paragraph.
I used 36ct eggs has an example because they can be $2.20 at one store and $5.00 at the rest and I always get 3 x 36ct, so that's a $7.50 savings on that one item. Milk can be $1-$2 difference between Walmart near Aldi and the other Walmarts. Like I said, other staples that Aldi carries are often cheaper at the nearby Walmart.
I have noticed that Walmart might raise the price on other items (e.g., beer by $1, non-staples, etc.) to make up for the loss-leader prices on the eggs, milk and other staples that they have to compete with Aldi on.

I have shopped at every Walmart including neighborhood. They are all the same price
Sorry, but no they're not. Check the egg, milk, and other staples prices of the Walmarts near Aldi and the Walmarts not near Aldi using the Walmart App.

I think both of the superstores on 44` are rough.
I find the one near Martin Luther King Jr & 441 to be the roughest. I wouldn't go there at night. The one at the top of TV on 441 is also interesting.
The one on 466 is not so bad -- my wife and I have been there numerous times in evening.
The one on 466A, the Neighborhood Market is nice, but the place is a wreck with snow-storm ravaged shelves many of the times I've visited.
As far as price, I've not noticed. My wife would know and yet she has never mentioned it, so I don't know.
I haven’t, but the one on the south end of 441 is a pit and we don’t feel safe over there. The one on the north side is too far.

This IS the definitive answer. To expand on this, Walmart posts their prices for each location online. No need to speculate. All you need to do is open up the Walmart app and check the price at the two locations you are concerned about.
Your definitive answer is the WRONG answer. The WalMart app gives the same online price for every store, unless you use WalMart Plus (their Prime equivalent ) on your phone while at Walmart using their WiFi.
To demonstrate, let’s use a gallon of 2% Great Value Milk:
(See attachments)
The cheapest milk is at the Walmart Supercenter on 441 in Summerfield FL at
$2.58.
The most expensive is the Supercenter on Wedgewood at $4.87

So I just went on my Walmart app and it show the 446 milk priced at $2.58

If this is true, there could be many reasons, one being that their overhead costs are higher. Maybe they are paying higher rent for the building in TV or paying higher wages, etc. If they actually own the building maybe the property taxes are higher in TV. Lots of factors go into pricing. If you are concerned about this, then you can choose to shop at the store with the lower prices.

I've been shopping there for 3 years now and have never felt unsafe. Have never witnessed a physical altercation or even a loud argument. It is an old store that shows its age and really should be torn down and rebuilt.
Have seen police monitoring parking lot…saw a drug deal going down once while driving thru far end of parking area…but, there are bad people everywhere….not just Walmart parking lot….

I would not be surprised about different prices in different stores of the chain. Read the fliers from other stores. Often it says buy one get one free but it does not show the price.

I recently did a Walmart price test because I heard others complain that prices were higher here than in Ohio.
I opened the Walmart ap to create an order for pick up. It was comprised of things that I often buy and the list was short, about 10 items, but a diverse sample.
I asked to pick up at the 441 store then recorded the price.
I changed nothing else but changed the store to the one that I previously used in Ohio.
Surprise! There was $0.29 difference between the two and the lower price was here.
Maybe you can try this for the two stores in question. By the way, the order that I used was about $35.

I used to work at the Walmart TV. The prices are about $3 higher than 441 store. They won’t match the price of the 441 store. They say it’s because they are on The Villages property and have to pay The Villages rent & percentage of profits, etc….
There is also a sales tax difference from 1 store to the other.
$3 more than what? Sales tax are determined by the state not the store.

Most large retailers have an algorithm that optimizes their profits by adjusting pricing to the individual store based on demographics and purchase activity. It is usually for "A" items - which are the 20% that represent 80% of their sales.

The comment that Walmarts buy from different wholesalers is completley false. They are supplied by their own warehouses. Should not share if you do not know the facts

Why are some Walmarts cheaper than others?
There are many reasons. They buy merchandise from different wholesalers or directly from the manufacturer. Some store plow advertising dollars into reducing the price while others use the money as profit. Some stores are based on volume, others are based on profit, or any combination.
I was told by a Walmart manager that sometimes areas that have higher theft cause prices to be higher in that store.

absolutely. prices for anything is higher if they are in the villages.. bought tires last week. 100$ more per tire in the villages than at the tire place on 301/446.. what a crime.

I don't have Walmart Plus and my standard Walmart App gives me unique prices for each of the Walmart stores. In the basic Walmart app, from my home, the different stores can have the same price or different prices but. Usually the stores next to Aldi, or similar, are much lower for staple items.
For the 2% milk that you used in your example, I get the exact same results in my standard Walmart app for each of the stores and I am not Walmart Plus. I do have to change the pickup store to get each store's price. I do not get a map of the prices like you have shown. Is that Map a feature in your Walmart App as a Plus customer or did you produce that separately? If it is in the app, that is a nice feature. As I mentioned elsewhere, before Walmart "upgraded" the standard Walmart App a few months ago, you could see all the Walmart prices for a single item at something like the nearest 6-8 stores before you added it to the cart.

Exactly the way to do it. However, the most difference in prices will be found on staples items such as milk, eggs, etc. that Aldi carries and between a Walmart next to Aldi, or similar discount grocery) and a Walmart no where near an Aldi.

Regarding the question about higher prices at WalMart in The Villages vs other Walmart stores:
Yesterday, I found the following prices on 1 gal of 1% milk: (Both Great Value brand)
Wedgewood Lane (The Villages) $4.87
Hwy 441 Summerfield $2.58
Makes me wonder what the difference would be on a cart full of groceries.
