Amazing and sad that we can't produce them (or most anything) in large quantities fast. We were in Winn Dixie LSL Monday and they got in the "free" N95 masks and were handing them out at a table in the front of the store. Can't tell where they were made as they aren't clearly marked. They do have the N95 & NIOSH markings on the band and seem just like previous painting N95's I have owned. They will be great for spray painting or visiting my brother-in-law's house where he is addicted to stinky cigars..

Look closer -- they (mine) expire on July 7 AND are not supposed to be exposed to less than 36°! Mine arrived the day after our coldest day in four years! Oh, it was shipped out of Topeka, KS! I feel certain the USPS ensured it was kept above 36°!
Let's go..........

FYI - in many cases, shelf life testing is limited for economic reasons.
Reagents similar to those used in the COVID tests have shelf life up to 12 months if refrigerated.

I received my four test kits the other day. Since we were at a dinner party with a couple that had Covid and did not know it until later, and we started exhibiting cold like symptoms, we decided to test ourselves. We tested positive. So, I called my doctor to see if there was some medication to be used and he said "we don't recognize the home test kits results. You will have to come in and be tested." WOW! Anyway, he said that if we were having minor cold-like symptoms, we could just take over the counter cold meds and stay home for five days. Then we should wear a mask for at least the next five days if we ventured out.
I am sure that the reason for being doubtful of the home test kits is based on the idea that non-medical personnel probably are prone to making mistakes and might get false results.
