Okay. That's great. But once you test...so what? If you think you have it ....even without the test, stay home or take what you know you're supposed to take. You don't need a test to tell you that you are sick.

Why folks want to keep testing is beyond me. I had C-19 at the end/beginning of 21/22 and didn't need a test to know I was sick. I stayed home and gave proper attention to my symptoms. Early on my pcp (2 yrs ago) told me "IF" I got it---stay home, take Musinex, hydrate (I utilized that with Gateraid for electrolytes). I also took advantage of the Brownwood site for therapy (it worked!!!!) before it got shut down. My pcp recommended it but 1st had labs done to find out and I had the antibodies for the "plague". My case felt like a flu. I never had a fever with it and only "some" of the symptoms. I've read where the tests can be inconclusive giving false negatives or positives. I won't be getting any "free" anything as according to the reports they have a "shelf life" that expires their effectiveness.

Take a look at your monthly Medicare Bill for 2021 and then 2022. Mine went up $22 per month. If you are "getting free tests" from Medicare, perhaps that $264 extra dollars you are paying may be helping you get free stuff.

This is a situation where the Government is saving the taxpayers' money. The tests can save lives and save taxpayers money by keeping people out of the hospital. An individual that KNOWS that they are positive early enough can look for a therapeutic for help, like Regeneron was in the case of Delta. They can also put themselves in quarantine as a favor to friends and others so as not to keep spreading it.
......From a cost perspective, the Federal Government is both lowering costs and giving citizens the benefit of better health care. It's really a win-win. Those that poo-poo ALL government spending should remember that they drive on PUBLIC roads that are not all turnpikes. Mostly, Government is your friend. The Government put hard-to-open lids on medications to prevent your children from accidentally dying. The list goes on and on!

It is a "shame" on 2 fronts.

Shame #1) It is "shame" that the US can't produce them fast enough or in large enough quantities. That has been the #1 issue since this pandemic began over 2 years ago wrt PPEs and now tests. Even using the DPA they haven't been able to get it done since all this started over 2 years ago.

And, in Dec, the Biden Administration "placed eight Chinese companies on a U.S. investment blacklist, saying that the entities support bio-metric surveillance and tracking of ethnic and religious minorities in China". It is well known that the Chinese are trying to build the most comprehensive DNA (and ethnic) database in the world of the entire world. How do you think the Chinese will use that information? The Delta variant is practically gone, and Omicron (now 99.9% of the cases) amounts to nothing more than a few days of flu-like symptoms. It's been two years since the start of the pandemic. We needed easy testing capability when Delta was running rampant, not now. I cannot understand why we need all this testing capability at this point in time. In my opinion, all the spending on tests now is a waste of money.

Just got mine today. Figured since I am paying for it anyway, might as well get a pack. ;) Mine were manufactured by Roche Diagnostics in KOREA, not China.
