View Full Version : Meggison Road is a disgrace

Meggison Road Eastbound from Okahumpka Circle on is an absolute mess. The trucks leaving the construction site are dropping almost as much dirt as they are carrying. When the weather is dry, it is a dust bowl. When it is wet, it is a mudhole. The contractor must be getting a commission from the local auto glass repair shops and carwashes for the amount of stones and dirt they are leaving on the roadway. If you value your car's windshield and appearance, I would avoid Meggison for the foreseeable future.
BTW, for the directionally challanged, Eastbound is away from Brownwood.

I emphasize with you, your problem is with the Developer/Development Company.

It is always like that in area where they are building new houses.
It was terrible in Osceola Hills when our house was being built six years ago. Dust was flying everywhere.
Now things are fine.

Same thing on 466A. Just growing pains that go away in time. Everywhere we go to shop, dine, entertain etc, someone had to deal with traffic, noise, dirt, inconveniences. It's the Meggison Road areas turn.

Kinda, Gotta agree.
To call it a disgrace is a bit of a drama queen statement.

Oh quit yer whining. it'll all be cleaned up when they're finished. in 68 years I've never seen a really neat construction site.

New way to bash the Developer.
Construction is dirty. New house in Springdale 2000 was dirty. New house near Lake Sumter 2005 was dirty, construction done cleaned up not dirty.
Kinda simple, don’t ya think?

Maybe we can get the dump truck drivers to wipe their wheels when leaving the dirt areas.

Everyone one who has moved into a new neighborhood experiences the dust bowl. It takes awhile, but eventually construction will be completed

First time living in/near a construction zone. Happens at all construction areas and people just deal with it until the construction moves on.

I appreciate your disdain. Please know that they will eventually clean it all up. My neighborhood was a wreck for many months and now there is little evidence of the turmoil.
One thing that my wife and I noticed today was all the oil stains on our neighborhood roads. Most of the time you never pay attention, but when you do, it is astounding how much oil is splotched across your roads.

I do think the developer could hire a street sweeper and make few more frequent passes during the day to minimize that. It’s also bad off of Marsh Bend Trail south of Corbin Trail…..Calling it a disgrace though is harsh. Construction sites are dirty messy areas, plain and simple.

That would be southbound not eastbound. It’s a north/south road.

They do run a street sweeper every few days - seen it myself.

it's still under construction, @ about halfway between warm springs to 44. there is a lot of debris around, but i expect it should be cleaned up before long. it's going to be a lovely area when completed.

What does SAGE mean?
Sage:
1. an aromatic plant with grayish-green leaves that are used as a culinary herb, native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean.
2. a profoundly wise man, especially one who features in ancient history or legend.
But if you're asking about the "user title" on this forum, it just means you're reached a certain # of posts...

Great first post btw. lol Yep, another "one post wonder" account. Account created 3 years ago and drops a first post bomb. That is a trend around here. Gotta keep traffic moving. :1rotfl:
