On Nov. 29, Talk of The Villages will be four years old.

We always thought Villagers wanted a place to talk, but quite frankly your
level of participation is surprising. I have seen other forums dedicated to
other cites even fail to get off the ground to any great extent.

We hope to keep this forum going as long as Villagers want to talk. We hope
those who have been quiet over the years will keep on visiting and maybe
even enter a post now and then. And we hope those who have been posting
keep at it.

We thank you for your warm acceptance of new members, and we thank you
for staying with us.

Numbers are milestones to many of us, and 15,000 isn't so bad, but there is
more to the story here. It is pleasant to see screen friendships form, and it is
more pleasant to see personal friendships form because of your meeting
here. Over the years we have heard from some people who have been lonely
in The Villages and they told us something sparked when they met people on
Talk of The Villages. They started making in-person friends. That is warming
to the heart. I know I value the friends I made through the forum, both on-
line and in-person.

As we look at the fifteen-thousandth registration in the rear view mirror,
Darrell, Jan and I would like to thank you all for your loyal participation.

You have made this forum. You should all take a bow.

Our hats are off to you!

To the Admins:

I am still a wannabe but I have found that I feel connected to TV by this use of this forum every day. It has provided me with very useful information on a need to know basis. Most of all, it lifts my spirits as I am trying to move to TV and become a frog.

Most of all, it's wonderful members who contribute so much in the care and concern of fellow members who need to be heard, a helpful hand or just a laugh.

I have met several people through this forum and consider them to be friends.I have found them them to be people who really care about other people and just want to help.

TOTV rocks!!!!! :BigApplause:

I run across so many people who are not aware of this site. I have no idea of whether you advertise or not since I have not see any ads but you may want to consider it. It could even turn into a profitable venture such as selling T-Shirts and hats. I market my companies web site without spending a dime and it has had a dramatic effect on the number of visitors and income it produces. Try facebook, twitter and other social sites to gain name recognition. Get reporters interested in the site, etc. Links. Sorry but I love to promote things I believe in.

Congratulations to the peeps and Administrators for the success of TOTV.

It seems that it may be time for the Administrators to make known the fact that after this site started, we were able to purchase shirts with the TOTV logo, along with other TOTV novelties from an advertizer here. Bill and I have our TOTV t-shirts and wear them often in public which starts many a conversation.

Would be nice to find a company who would do TOTV number plates for the cars and golf carts, similar to The Villages number plates that are sold at TV Mercantile store.

What say, admins?

I know more about what's going on in TV than my friends who don't participate in this blog and that says it all to me. I have a place to feel welcome in between all the other activities of TV, like right now for instance.
Thanks Tony, Talk Host and all who contribute to this little sanctuary of ideas.:BigApplause:

May I send a big thank you shout out to the administrators and to the posters of TOTV! This site has made a big impact on the way I enjoy the villages both when I am there and when I am 'up north' and further 'up north'! My visits to the boards have made me a better friend, citizen and debater! :icon_wink: And I love being able to enjoy the hard work of the administrators who keep this site going and growing. :BigApplause:

I still run across outsiders who:

1) Haven't a clue about The Villages

2) Think I've lost my mind for even thinking about communicating with strangers on line

3) Know I've lost my mind for even thinking about actually meeting in person with strangers met on line

4) Soon learn that TOTV Administrators are Super People!

I add my heart-felt thank you to the admins and and the wonderful members of TOTV. I've met people on this site whom I dearly love and admire.

I appreciate all the posters who make me laugh, make me cry, make me think, teach me things and occasionally even make me mad.

I appreciate the admins.' hard work to maintain this as a site where we are comfortable, as Swinfla mentioned, communicating with strangers and meeting in person.

I feel a strong bond with many TOTVers, some who were here long before me and welcomed me into the fold, some who recently joined. I appreciate KathieI for organizing TOTV luncheons and meet and greets-- and all the TOTVers who attend these events and strengthen our bond. I look forward to being a regular at these gatherings when I become a frog.

TOTV, its 15,000 members and Tony and Jan contribute greatly to my sense of community and joy in TV.

TOTV is Kool aid.

Administrators -
Vinny mentioned tee shirts and hats for TOTV. I still have my tee from when we first began. Are they still available?

I agree P. But don't forget that other administrator...what's his name?

Darrell, that's it...yeah, thanks guys.

TV and TOTV are really blessings in so many ways. It is the people that make both TV and TOTV wonderful places.

Another shout out for the administrators.

This forum also helped us make our decision about moving to TV and as someone previously said, we know more about TV than our friends who have lived here longer because of TOTV.

It is also our first source for checking out contractors, services, etc. We know the posters will praise the good and weed out the bad.

My wife and I didn't find out about TOTV until after we had put our initial down payment on our piece of dirt in May. Since then, we have been reading what everyone has to say about TV and learned a lot that was not explained by our realtor.

We have sold our house and will be heading to TV on Friday to begin the rest of our life. We have already met some people because of TOTV. We met Becky and Bob face to face when we came down to pick out our house. They just happen to be from the same city we are from, and had moved in just one week prior.

Because of TOTV, we have also gotten to know Chuck and Jan who will be our next door neighbors. Because of them, we found out that the people across the street from us are also from our city also.

Thanks to the administrators for putting together this great forum for folks to meet and have discussions.
