Lot of sand on the greens. Not worth the price to play.

Have you played anywhere between Feb 6 and Feb 23 that you thought were nice or passable?

I don't think I would take any advice from someone who doesn't know one course from another. Bonifay is in very good shape. By the way, sand on the greens is what has to happen after aeration, which is totally necessary. It only lasts a few days, then the green comes back better.

None of the championship courses are worth the price to play this time of the year when seasonal and renters are here. TV jacks the prices up to gouge these people. That's why we play off campus in the winter months...

A diversity of opinion, for sure. I just finished playing it 15 minutes ago and the truth is somewhere in between. Greens are slow, need to be rolled, fairways average for this time of year. most tees OK.

Played Nancy LOpez, Glenview, and Tierra all 3 were good. When we played Bonifay it was a mess, can say the same for Havana. People we are talking $50 withn yuor own cart. I expect better.

Eagle Ridge in great shape and a lot cheaper. That is where I just took my guests to golf.

And will be taking my guests to Juliett Falls. Never disappointed there. If I am going to pay a premium price, at least I get quality golf.

As soon as The Village golfers improve so will the courses.

None of the "Championship" courses here are worth $64, especially since you use your own cart. Marginal conditions, boring designs and resort pricing. No thanks.

$50 + tax. Obviously you have the Priority membership. Don’t know if you are new to The Villages but the courses in the “middle part” especially Havana are like that every year at this time. It’s awfully early to have to aerate and topdress those greens. Some say the reason is they don’t water enough

So did I, and it is not all that bad. Seems like a lot of people want Augusta National conditions at muni prices.

Full disclosure: I've played Baltusrol, Bethpage Black, Winged Foot, Westchester CC, Oak Hill, Shinnecock Hills, Pinehurst #2 and 5, PGA National, Copperhead, TPC Sawgrass and Bay Hill among others, so I think I know golf course conditions.

Actually, every course in Mid-Florida (probably all of Florida) jacks up the prices during the "Winter" months. Its a supply and demand thing -- half of the country can not play golf in the Winter, so higher prices. Is this really that shocking?
