We have dear friends that will be coming to TV in January to check it out. They will be staying in our home in the Historic District. We want them to be able to enjoy their visit, as they are looking to buy a retirement home.
Is it possible for them to have a Lifestyle Visit without staying in a Villa, but in our private residence and still get all the perks that a Lifestyle Visit offers??

The Lifestyle perks such as lunch and dinner coupons, I hear, are history. Before your friends commit to the Lifestyle visit ask them not to assume they are getting all these items.

You could call the sales office and ask. It never hurts to ask.

Thanks, both of you. I did contact the Sales Office and and LSV without paying $150 and staying in a Cabana or CYV is not possible. However, I don't really think our friends would mind all that much. They are rather independent people and like to look for themselves.
Another question to the "Big Giant Head" of TOTV might be, what should we do to make sure that our friends are comfortable and have access (gate cards) and what do we do about them playing golf if they want to??

Go to your nearest rec center and apply for their guest passes.

BaylorBear,
If your friends are staying with you (and not just staying in your home while you're away somewhere) then yes, you need to get guest passes for them. You'll need their names, addresses and dates of birth - all this needs to match their drivers' licenses. I don't think you can get these at just any rec center, but only the regional ones. You can also order them online (look for the link on thevillages.net) and pick them up a couple of days later - explains all this online. They should always carry their guest passes AND drivers' licenses while in TV.
If they're going to be staying in your place in your absence, you can pay $50 (for both), to get them resident guest passes, which would enable them to use the sport pools and get free executive golf. I think this info is also on Thevillages.net, or you can just call the 800 # for The Villages and they will direct you. You would need to mail or turn in your resident passes ahead of time. Several days are recommended to process these, especially at beginning or end of a month.

Hey Baylor Bear: Your Bears are having a great season in football. Hopefully my Mizzou Tigers will meet your Bears in the Big 12 Championship Game in December. Robert Griffin is the real deal.

They will be staying here while we are in Texas. Are you saying that we will need to turn in our resident ID cards before getting guest passes for our friends?? Perhaps I am not quite understanding what you are saying? We do not have "resident passes" that I am aware of, only the Villages ID cards. Or are you saying that we need to TAKE our resident ID cards when we order their guest passes??

I am so very PROUD of them!!! My fervent prayer is that they beat Texas this weekend here in Austin, and believe me, it is rather enjoyable to see Texas having to swallow their arrogance for once!
