I see a number of Village-Owned vehicles parked at Laurel Manor Recreation Center. They appear to be vehicles that are going to be "retired."

Does anyone know how The Villages disposes of these vehicles, or how a resident might go about buying one of them as an extra vehicle?

As always, any help/advice will be appreciated!

Ever wonder why Villages vehicles have Florida State plates on them?
I thought those were reserved for government vehicles.

I like talk host have seen the FL goverment plates on vehicles that are operated by the CDD such as villages watch and CDD vehicles.

I worked at an vehicle auction in Indiana and oversaw the fleet, lease and repo accounts. We had the state of Indiana vehicles as well as several state Universities. In Indiana these goverment vehicles were auctioned off to the general public as well as dealers. We also had the US Marshall drug cars as well as the local police cars all had to be offered to the general public on a cash basis. All units were sold as-is with no test drives.

I believe the units with the FL Goverment plates are operated by the CDD and that is who I would call. If they are Villages owned units that would be a different thing.
