Went to WAWa the other day to fill up some gas cans with ethanol free gas and there was a very long waiting line at the trailer behind WAWa that is signing up new BJ Warehouse members.

I was up that way the other day and wondered this: Is there any ingress/egress to BJ's other than the narrow street on the south side of Lowes? It seems congested as it is, with a long wait at the traffic light to enter or cross 441/27!

Guessing the long line was due to unable to figure out how to sign up online.

There's another driveway that comes between Wawa and the carpet place, and that leads directly to the BJ's gas station. If you take a left immediately before the gas station you'll be on a little side road that runs the length of the BJ's property and connects with that Lowe's road. The parking lot is all along that section with driveways leading in.

Don't rush to throw money at them to sign up at their trailer, you can do it online with no hassle. That plus they used to ALWAYS blanket the areas of a new store openings with free 3-month memberships in newspapers and in the mail. Not sure if they do that here but you can always pay full price on their website same day if they don't.

I’m waiting for the free one and I realize it may never happen :pray. I just can’t rationalize paying for being a member of two at the same time . I am glad they are opening because competition is a good thing for the consumer. Maybe better deals at Sam’s

Had one in Virginia where we lived and after it being there for several years, I only went in it one time and used the 3 month free membership. Also had a Sam's Club and a Costco there and was a member of both of those...
Probably never go in this one either.

Here in GA we went to BJ’S for gas and propane. If you get there CC you get extra off gas. I liked some of there stuff but still love Sams better.

They've only had signs at the street by Chase and Wawa for six months. You should solve mysteries.

But we are still investigating what it might be. As you can see it is a mostly non “construction” site with no “construction” going on. We’ll get back to you if there’s any breaking news.

Slippery slope there.

The employees of the big-box stores are local. By supporting the big-box stores you ARE supporting "local." You're supporting members of the community and surrounding communities.

The same for all the chain restaurants such as Chili's, Outback, Beef O'Brady's, which has restaurants in 19 states. Publix, Winn Dixie, Earth Fare, Fresh Market, etc. NONE of these are "local" yet they all support local communities by paying employees to work for them.

The land on the side toward Chase Bank should be widened to allow cars to make a R on red out of that complex of stores. It's already a bottleneck without the additional apartment and BJ's traffic. Maybe the timing on that light could be modified once BJ's is up-and-running too!

We should support local small business owners & employees vs. big often (((international))) corporations whenever possible.

BTW, If you sign up now at their 25% off membership and they don't open until fall,
that's 5-6-7 months taken off you 1 year membership.

Close but no cigar. BJ stands for Beverly Jean, the daughter of the first president of the company who was not related to Walmart.

Good to see it is getting closer to opening. By far our favorite of the 3 stores. Been a member for over 30 years. Wouldn’t be interested with anything off the reservation since you would get there by golf cart. Can’t wait.

Very good! You are thinking outside the box. However I don’t think they would want that many POed customers right off the bat. I threw my mailer in the trash hoping for an offer for a free month or three

If this BJ's is anything like the ones I've gotten free 90-day "memberships" to before, there will be a lot of disappointed people here in a couple of months. BJ's is a 3rd rate operation behind Costco and Sams Club.

I much prefer BJs over the others. Great store and not a mess like the other 2. To each his own though. I just don’t like buying things off the floors.
