If you decide to consider Freedom Pointe as your continuing care community, make certain that you read the contract carefully. If you should leave Freedom Pointe, you are subject to having to pay four months worth of fees (5200 per month in our case) unless your unit sells in that period. However, a unit has to be shown to sell. We spent considerable in the period we lived there improving the unit. A day or two after we moved out, workmen entered our unit, knocked down a wall and tore up the floor. We have received a bill for our third payment and the unit is still not in a condition to be shown. Obviously we are paying for improvements and Freedom Pointe receives the benefits with no need to hurry finishing the revamping. Also, FP has three different financial plans when you buy. Purportedly you will be returned a portion of your purchase price when you leave. However, they have an extraordinary long time to return your funds. There is more, but think carefully before you sign with them.
