Anywhere around here?
There's supposedly a german bakery a bit away from the Villages on or off 441 or 27 in the southern area that might have them.
The only stores I've ever seen them personally were Big Y in New England.

Thanks. Someone posted this AM about Mannys Deli in my hometown of Chicago, and it got me thinking. With the population of this area coming from everywhere, including cities and towns known for their food, I’m surprised that there are not more and better ethnic choices.
Bakery, deli, comfort foods like Italian Beef, gyros, thin crust pizza, etc. And the high-end places are expensive, but that doesn’t always translate to high quality.

Not Polish or from Detroit, so I will happily settle for a jelly doughnut.

I got 4 at Publix this morning. Not as good as the ones in Detroit but better than a jelly donut.:a040:

They only seem better in Detroit cause your eating it in the cold wind, rain and snow.

Everyone wants it like they had back home. Back home they had a larger market and used no preservatives. And in the end, most of the folks who want it here would probably not pay the price that comes with that level of quality. Shame!

You have to go out to New Port Richie or Sarasota. I just got a few Jelly Doughnuts at Doughnut King in Leesburg, they were close enough. I'm from Chicago, so I do miss them.

Manny’s is a Chicago original, not a NY transplant. I know that NYC folks tend to think of their town as the COTFU, and that everything west of the Hudson is still being explored by Lewis & Clark, but they’re be wrong! 😄

Not crazy about the grocery store bakeries, but I’ll check these out. Thanks!

Good Morning--I bought a box at Fresh Market last week. $5.99 for 4.

Yes Walmart on Wedgewood Lane has them but they have been all Bavarian Cream lately. They also sometimes have a Boston Cream version with chocolate on top but again it is filled with Bavarian Cream. I like the raspberry "jelly donut" version myself which they have had in the past. Box of 6 for $3.98.
P.S. Last time we were there they were on the clearance rack maybe because people don't know what PACZKI are.
