My big mistake was Panama by Van Halen. I thought David Lee Roth was saying Let it rock instead of Panama. Best one I experienced was a guy who worked for me thought AC/DC was saying Dirty deeds and the thunderchief instead of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. With all the info available now there is no excuse although Alexa is wrong occasionally on song lyrics

I heard:

Boo-hoo, bitchy woman
See how hard she tries

She is a loon who spouts lies

Oh my God that was awesome. By the time I got through number twenty I was crying I was laughing so hard. How about Madonna “Like a Virgin touched for the very first time” and they thought it was “ touched for the thirty-first time”. Shoe kinda fits on that one

Huey Lewis and the News- “It’s Hip to Be Square”

I heard “Hit the B Square”. Made no sense to me at all but that is what I sang for a lot of years.

And, there are times when it’s not only what we hear, it’s what we see along with it. . .

Remember the old Chevy truck ads on television — with the song “Like a Rock”. . .

I heard one of the kids singing along with it one day — loud and clear. . .”My garage.”

Boomer

PS: Hmmm, maybe that was it on a subliminal level because there is a Chevy truck in our garage right now.

Oh My God, please do!!!

The classic on TV was Phoebe on Friends thinking that Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" was a song about Tony Danza. "Hold me closer, Tony Danza..."

For me, it was Inna Gada Da Vida, always thought it was "In The Garden of Eden."

You know, there has always been a rumor that those were the actual words, but the lead singer was drunk when they recorded the song and Inna Gaza Da Vida was what came out. Not sure if it’s true or not, but there it is…

Definitely 'Blinded By The Light.' Heck, I'm still not sure (even after looking it up), if I believe what the lyrics are supposed to be. lol

That is what it was supposed to be, but for you to hear that, the singer wasn't the only one who was stoned, I'm guessing. 😁😁😁

The -“Burning out his fuse out here alone” part I really never knew the lyrics until I looked it up. Thought it said learning confusion I had never known

That’s the truth. Also has to be a song that is totally undeserving of all the play on the radio over the years

As a very young kid at Sunday School I had a very posh lady, with a very upper class English accent as our group leader.
We sang 'All things bright and beautiful' and when we got to the line "He made their glowing colors" I heard her sing 'carlers' for colors'
For a long time after I used the word 'carlers' as correct pronunciation.
Now, being a good old East London boy, I use the correct pronunciation 'kulers!':icon_wink:

Michael Jackson's Billie Jean...."....but, the chair is not my son...." (hey, it's what I heard)

Another song was American Band, I would sing at the top of my lungs, "....I'm an American Man, I'm an American Man, we're coming to your town, we'll help you party down, I"m an American Man..."

After singing this at work, my coworker said, "no man, they're singing American Band, not American Man...." as he signed disappointedly.

I'm sure there are more....

Funny. My Dad investigated fires at Nevada whorehouses for a major insurance company and brought my Mom along on one of these. As they were talking to various people at the then burned out building they saw a truck driver coming up in their direction who could not see the now gone men's attraction. They could see the man's smile on his face as he anticipated the coming carnal enjoyments. That smile gradually disappeared as he saw the smoldering wreck of the cat house.

I have trouble understanding what Ruelle is singing in this song which was picked up for a casino ad here in Florida. RUELLE (https://www.ruellemusic.com/)

Club Yoko is the group. I assume it is Ruelle singing but it could be someone else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1mkYWkoXyo It does sound like her though judging from this other song sung by her.

Ah, yes, the things kids recite in church. . .

For instance, The Apostles’ Creed (or Nicene Creed — can’t remember which one) — anyway — in the part that says “suffered under Pontius Pilate” a little boy was overheard very sincerely reciting “suffered under a buncha spiders.”

So sorry, but to this day, I cannot help a secret smile in church when I think about that little guy. You know, “suffering under a buncha spiders” was what he heard — and it would have made perfect sense to him.
