I saw the sign up on the property a few days ago and was excited to see this happening. Hopefully it won't be a Costco or Walmart, but maybe something so us girls don't have to go all the way to Ocala... like Steinmart or Macy's??? fingers crossed.....

My wife would like a Home Goods and a Talbots. I would like a Dick's Sporting Goods or Bass Pro Shop.

How about - Trader Joe's, Hooter's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Macy's. A little of everything for everyone! And ladies - remember Hooter's is safer than viagra for your men and does the same thing. ;) Plus - their hot wings really are delish!

Costco seems a bit wasteful in an area that's mostly just couples and singles in homes with no storage sheds or basements. I mean, how many 40-pound tubs of potato salad and 50-roll packages of toilet paper can they sell to Villagers?

We do a lot of grocery shopping at Costco.

Wonder how long we will have to guess what the stores will be? Don't get down that far very often so will keep checking in here to see any new developments. I vote for any/all of the suggested stores. I would patronize them all!!!!!!

I want a Costco, too!!! I've requested it both through Costco and a person who deals with retail in TV (who said they've made contact, but Costco is focusing on larger markets, like Orlando -- but keep contacting them and requesting!) Yes, there are other stores that would be nice, too, but you are mistaken to think that Costco is just "40-pound tups of potato salad and 50-roll packages of toilet paper".

Well, like I said in another thread, they we bought a 46" HDTV, computers, printer, Digital camera etc. and they have the best return policy around at Costco's.

Sweetbay is supposed to be coming to the 466A center. The scale will probably be like Colony Cottage. Big stores -- Macy's, CostCo?, the national chains will go into the big shopping center next to the new town square Brownwood, on Rt 44.

Sweetbay will be across the road, near the new county center.

The sell chicken noodle soup with tons of chicken for around 10 bucks. It gives wife and I two meals. And their homemade chili is alot better then Wendy's chili. IMHO. Wifey also loves their pound cake. I love their chicken rolls, too. I'm getting hungry!!!!

Costco's pizza is pretty good too. It's refrigerated, not frozen, and you bake it at home.

What is the difference in Costco and Sam's Club? I don't think I've ever been in a Costco. I've been in a BJ's which is similar to Sam's Club.

We bought our children Sam's Club memberships. My stepdaughter said she liked Sam's but she said not to renew her Sam's Club membership because Costco is closer to her home in Maryland. According to her, they are very similar.

Another vote here for Costco. It's the only thing left that I miss. I don't even care anymore that the airport is so far... I have no desire to leave this place.

Anyone who thinks Costco is just about 50 rolls of paper towels and 40 lbs of potato salad is mistaken. Great prices on everything (including electronics) and a much nicer variety of things than Sam's. Their Kirkland store brand items are usually rated very high by Consumer Reports.

Hi Cuz,
They are similar. I sometimes go to Sams because it is closer to home than the nearest Costco. However, Costco generally has lower prices and much greater variety of merchandise.

I too would love to see a Costco.

"Antrim Dells is a 500,000 square feet power center in the development phase that will neighbor Brownwood on State Rd 44." See http://www.thevillagescommercialproperty.com/prop-Antrim%20Dells.asp

A couple of months after we bought our Sony 46" HDTV, they lowered the price. Even though our time expired, they still credited my credit card $200. Above and beyond the call of service.
