Does anyone have info on rates for golf courses in this area that are
off-campus?

I would suggest you look in the daily Sun. There are always a lot of courses listed with their fees. I don't know if you would be interested or not, but I am taking a group to Black Bear on Wednesday the 10th of November. The fee is $30.00 plus tax. If you would like to join us, you are most welcome. Just send me an e-mail at livgolf2004@yahoo.com or call me at 259-4601.

When I saw jebartle's list I remembered other threads over the last few years that were equally helpful. However, they are difficult to access with the TOTV search engine. If you just look in the Golf forum, there are a huge number of threads to sort through.
Here's what works: put the name of a very popular outside course in the search box. Continental Country Club, Baseline and Stonecrest. That triggers a bunch of threads specifically on courses outside TV.

Jebartle,
That is awesome. I just printed it and put it in my TV notebook, so I won't have to search for it when I inevitably want to find it.
Thanks much!

Is anyone familiar with the conditions on the various courses? I understand Juliette Falls is in really nice shape. I haven't played any of the others recently. I played Continental about 5 years ago, and it was beautiful, but I hear they almost lost their greens last year. I guess if their greens fees are only $20 including lunch, that the course isn't it too great shape. Has anyone played there recently? In the past, Arlington Ridge and Harbour Hills have been nice - those are a couple I'd be curious about.

I played Stone Creek in Ocala yesterday and they reseeded just over a week ago. The course is in fabulous shape and the greens are fast as lightening...

I played Continental last week and I thought the greens were as good as most of the ones in the villages. The hot dog and soda were good also. Great deal, wasn't crowded and played in less than four hours.
