Flooring Company Recommendations

If you are putting down any type of wood flooring or a wood based product, make sure it is water proof. Also make sure that you keep several extra pieces of the final product so you have pieces to replace the flooring when it gets damaged. There are many options for flooring, we decided on a 100% vinyl product, Mohawk luxury vinyl plank from Lowe's. 2 years ago this was $2.50 per square foot, 100% water proof, NO underlayment, easy to install, and almost as quiet as carpeting.
I did the install myself, so I cannot recommend an installer.

VGM Professional Flooring just completed our whole house replacement. We bought the Tigid Vinyl Planking at LL Flooring (formerly Lumber Liquidators) in Ocala and had VGM tear out the old and install the new.
Vinnie is the front man and his brother Mike runs the crew. They were fast, efficient and very professional.
I would use them again with zero hesitation.

LA Flooring in Wildwood....no contest. also, no deposit required. and they remove and paint the baseboards. NO 1/4 " molding that looks tacky.

I second LA Flooring on route 391 in Wildwood. Put in Mohawk Luxury Vinyl Plank. They removed rugs and baseboard, did the job soup to nuts. Price was excellent and owner easy to work with. Recommend highly

Floor Masters removed carpet and installed vinyl plank that matches our main room. Have an Iris. Took less than a day and pleasant to work with. They moved furniture and even put down new area rug on the new floor before placing beds.

The most difficult part will be deciding which type of flooring you want to install. I recommend doing your own research before you consult a company. They tend to push what is in their best interest. It takes a little time but this is a decision you will have to live with for the next 10 to 20 years.

If you go with LVP, 20 mil wear layer is minimum but I recommend 28 or higher.

We gave Floormasters three houses to install laminate over the years. We had a problem with the last house and requested they come out and give us a recommendation. (The flooring was several years old, so it was not a warranty issue.) They finally came out and told us they had to go back to the manufacturer, Armstrong. Since Floormasters didn't follow-up, we contacted the manufacturer ourselves and learned they were no longer in that business.

We finally found a floor cleaning company who restored the surface finish like new. I am not a fan of Floormasters.

I used The Floor Shoppe and am very pleased.
We also used them and are very happy with the results.
All the flooring shops have, basically, the same stuff. It comes down to customer service and living up to your commitment, and these folks did that.
We replaced all our carpet (3 bedrooms, all closets) with 7 inch wide engineered hardwood and left the rest of the house as is (tile). At the time (about 5 years ago) this was a $7,000+ job which we considered a pretty major job. Half the shops wouldn't give us the time of day. Most of the rest had cookie cutter, take it or leave it solutions, which we left. Only the Floor Shoppe took the time to address all our requirements and come up with creative solutions for all of them.
Highly recommended!
