I am looking for suggestions for software that I can use for art & photography. I use to have Corel,Microsoft Digital Imaging, Photoshop, and
Broderbound. These programs were all good but we have purchased a new
Toshiba Laptop and have gotten rid of all this software. I would appreciate
any suggestions that you may have. Thanx

Photoshop Elements is by far the best. It's downsized a bit from Photoshop in features and many hundred dollars in price, which is the best part. The Villages Learning College has a couple of sets of classes in it too.

I love Photoshop but it is very expensive. I agree with Elements as the best low cost alternative. Enjoy your new laptop!
GIMP is as powerful as Photoshop itself and is free.
GIMP is GNU Image Manipulation Program.

I'm with Tony - Gimp is awesome and I've been a professional publisher and have used Corel Draw and Photoshop.

I have both Photoshop CS4 with Lightroom and Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3. I also use a Wacom Pen Tablet. While I have both PS and Corel, I find that Corel is more user friendly and intuitive. You can dive right in and start using Corel without any training, and it has all the same features as PS.
Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 also includes Painter4 and HD Video Projects, and you can also work with RAW.
As a matter of fact, I have an extra, unopened brand new Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 if you are interested. It retails for $53, but you can have it for $40.;)
