In this latest update video, you’ll see the Middleton Community Support District and the raising of the walls of the new high school that’s under construction. You’ll also get a look at the area where Eastport and the Woodlands golf course are being built, the area south of Monarch Grove and the Southern Oaks bridge. We’ll look at the progress of Sawgrass and the soon to open McGrady’s pub. After that we look at the new areas under consideration – DeLuna, Richmond, and the Okahumpka Rec Center. Also included are the commercial buildings at Warm Springs Ave. and US301 as well as the new buildings at Magnolia Plaze.
I also provide some additional information about the fundraiser happening on March 18, 2023 – “David’s Day – Remembering those gone too soon” and the Gold Wingnut Foundation.
I hope you enjoy the video.

I think what The Villages is doing at Middleton and Eastport is fantastic and I am wondering how it will affect the heavy traffic that now goes along Route 470.
My friend Billy-Bob lives in Sumterville and drives along Route 470 going to and from his place of work near Leesburg, and he says he usually drives 60+ mph along that road, just like the other commuters.
Now Billy-Bob will have to go along the new Central Parkway and deal with three roundabouts and a probable speed limit of 35 mph. I guess we will see how he adapts.

Having right-side bypass lanes would probably improve safety and traffic flow.

I watched your video a couple days ago, and saw you identified the fast food going in at Magnolia as McDonalds. Any chance you could put in a good word we would prefer something else? A Starbucks would be great!
We often go to Gainesville to see doctors and pick up a Coffee on the way over on 446A at Starbucks in from t of Lowes. It is WAY out of our way from the McClure area - one in Magnolia would be awesome. LOL!

Doubt they will put a Starbucks in Magnolia Plaza. A coffee-type shop just opened there.

Can only put them in 3 exit Round-Abouts, not 4 exit.

Two coffee shops will be in magnolia. Starbucks May have had the offer to build there, but turned it down. Always glad to see a different business come to TV

I'm hoping for Medical Cannabis shop. Currently 11 miles to Leesburg or 18 to Lady Lake.

Read the email Don posts at the end - we all could email the developer and ask for a Starbucks a Costco or an Aldi - it is up to the real estate group at each of those places to decide which location matches their market.
there’s a reason a Starbucks is in LSL and not Brownwood. If LSL was a highly profitable store, there would be a Starbucks in Brownwood. Instead, Starbucks went out of the bubble on 466A.

There is no way these big companies will pay the rents the developer would charge. That is why the big stores are outside the bubble.

The only one that I could talk to about getting a Starbuck at Magnolia is Starbucks, they have to make the decision to move there, the developer can only make the space available. That being said, since there's already a coffee shop there the developer won't consider another coffee shop to compete with it, they don't put two of the same thing in one shopping area. You won't see Publix and Winn Dixie in the same area, it would hurt both stores and the developer. Now multiple restaurants are actually good at drawing in business, but rarely are they the same type of food, a variety will attract more customers for all.
I spent 20 years drinking coffee in the engine room of a submarine, some good, some not so good, but all were better than the burnt sludge that Starbucks wants to pass off as coffee at $5/cup. I've drank it out of necessity and courtesy but never by choice. You'll have a better chance of me becoming pregnant as a 61-year-old man than to having me ask Starbucks to open a store anywhere. :barf:

I've heard it said, The Villages is where women can't get pregnant but the men look like they are :MOJE_whot:
