It appears that the cable on our garage door snapped. The door will not open. Any recommendations on a reliable garage door repair person/company

Ryan O'Cull, 352-207-5668 or
Scott Cowen, 352-697-0321
Note that Ryan may be on vacation. Have you pulled the cord with the red handle and tried to open the door manually?

NOTE: if the cable snapped, you will NOT be able to open the door as this cable provides the balancing force to offset the weight of the garage door. The same thing goes if a spring breaks. The red emergency handle is ONLY GOOD for failure of the actual garage door opener system. In this case all of the springs and cables are intact so the garage door can be relatively easily opened (if it was balanced correctly).

I would just point out that, there are two torsion springs. I had one of them snap, but the door would still open with the electric opener.

Relax, he's just adding some advice how the door acts with a broken cable or spring.
