Troubling advertisement on WVLG

I was troubled by an advertisement aired on the Villages radio station WVLG. It was from RV swap shop and they were taking Jesus's name in vane. I do not believe this should be allowed on OUR radio station
I called the radio station and they directed me to call the Daily Sun ( 352 753 1119). I did and they said they would look into it. I believe that if many like minded people called they would do something to delete the add.

Those RV Swap Shop's ads are anything but serious. I doubt anything malicious or demeaning was meant.

I heard that after the government banned the water boarding of prisoners , they started to play the villages radio station 24/ 7 , the prisoners started talking after 1 day , I love all kinds of music and oldies have there place but when I want to listen to a few oldies ,I’ll go to my satellite or pandora stations

Sadly, I completely understand why a Christian would be offended by some comments using Jesus's name in vain. But, as we are often reminded here, "free speech" protects everyone, not just the ones I think should be protected.

I also agree with the OP, if they really don't want ads like that on the station, they - and everyone that agrees with them - should contact the station. If enough to, I expect the station will stop running those ads. And, I am cool with that too - our choice, we can express our displeasure with a company and not use it, but "they should be stopped" is not how this country is supposed to work.

I went to catholic schools with both nuns and priests , I can recall both telling us humerus stories using Jesus and others of the deity, people need to lighten up , I’m sure God likes a good joke also

True. Sadly, I watch an old Chinese movie, I see the swastika decorations. I have a moments emotional " hiccup" before I am back on track that it is Chinese and not Nazi I am looking at.
I believe that no matter what you do or don't do, someone will be offended. The world is populated with so many people with so many different ideas of how things are or should be that it is impossible to take a step without stepping on someone else's toes. Even after proofreading and correcting changes that autocorrect made, I still sometimes end up having to edit things that got changed after hitting Submit Reply. That should not be able to happen, but it does.
Sometimes I believe AI knows more than we think it does and is playing games with us. World wide web, indeed. And we are like gnats dangling from threads thinking how in control we are.

Dear Sparky25,
If your Christian values were offended by an advertisement by RV Swapshop broadcast on WVLG then I suggest you do not use the services of RV Swapshop and turn off WVLG. In this way you can shield your sensibilities while allowing others who may not share your ideals to persue their lives in a manner they see as acceptable.
