I do not base my concept of sex on religion. I am an agnostic. In my previous post I said " what God or nature made you" in order include both religious and non- religious points of view. I believe in science but I don't hold only with science that tells me what supports my point of view. Science is constantly evolving and my point of view changes as science changes. I don't let politics or social cliques or PC standards of the day dictate what or how I think. You can still apply for TSA PreCheck® but you must select “M” or “F” which are the gender options currently available. TSA is in the process of adding a third gender option for non-binary, intersex, and gender non-conforming individuals but cannot provide an exact timeline for when we will begin offering a third gender options.

I think the answer given in post #2 is the most likely real reason it is still on the form.

TSA ought to be asking for information that either helps them determine if you can be trusted or helps them identify you when you are in the security line. The question certainly doesn't help with the former and allowing the answer to be based on preference rather than physical identity makes the answer useless for the latter.

If the question does not provide any information useful for PreCheck qualifications or identification then it is useless and should be removed.

Agree with most of what you say. To me, though, it can become a big deal when the athletic conferences start allowing "transgender" individuals to compete.across the genetically determined boundaries. It unfairly alters the competition and, in some instances, may even make competition very dangerous.
Also, the political pandering to legislate wasteful and unnecessary laws and forms (post #1) government time and money and adds to our giant spaghetti bowl of bureaucracy.
We should all be able to live our lives as we would like without fear or abuse.

Sorry I was not clear, that is my fault. You misinterpreted my reply. I was not replying to the OP, I was replying to someone that went off on the "there are only two sexes" dog whistle.

And I agree with the reply that said the reason for the questions is more than likely associated with the TSA having to do "pat downs" occasionally, and they are required by law to use a person of the same sex (in the case of male vs female). I have no idea what they do for an intersex person.
