The hawk had the air strike advantage in this one, but even so, the thread title says the squirrel got away.

alemorkam captured it on film. Maybe he will let us know how the squirrel got away. I think scrambling up a tree and hiding there could have been what saved him. Continuing to run across open ground seems like it would have resulted in the squirrel’s fatal exposure to the hawk swooping in.

In the other thread, the eagle did not have its air attack advantage, so there could have been hope for the squirrel. Squirrels seem to think fast, and if you have ever watched one try to defeat a “squirrel-proof” bird feeder, you have seen a strategist in action.

Thanks again, alemorkam. Just like other forms of art, photography can tell a story — giving us something to think about.
