Never heard of them, but if you're the least bit computer savvy, you can easily instal a system yourself.
I installed a SimpliSafe system in my home (it can be monitored for police & fire if you want) and controlled over your smart phone. IIRC, it took about two hrs to install and set up. It has a doorbell camera, outdoor cameras (if you want them), glass break and smoke detectors, door and window sensors, water sensors... Everything you could possibly want. I can turn the alarm on/off via my phone if I'm away and I ask a neighbor to check inside the house.
Ring also has a system that does the same thing.

WHY !! I’ve lived in 6 different homes in 6 different neighborhoods and still don’t know anyone who has been robbed also I’m a very social person and have never heard anyone at social event that’s been robbed , I’m sure it happens but if you listen to the sherif you have better odds getting hit by lightning and I don’t have lightning either

Been wondering about the need for an alarm myself. Other than in the event of fire if we are not home not sure we need it.

Another option is Galaxy Home Solutions in Wildwood. I recommend.

Then the simple solution is to not install one...
Others have their own needs and concerns...
When out walking my dog (typically across my neighbor's lawns :icon_wink: ), I see quite a few alarm signs. So it seems that others share the same concerns...

You must be in a high anxiety neighborhood , because I never see many and I have lots of 5 mile walk routines from 466 to Fenny

If they think they need a sign or alarm no reason not to get one. Just think that this is a very safe area.
the fact that many homeowners here have means to protect themselves and property does bode well for the rest of us

So why can't folks just respond to the question asked? How are the replies help full to the OP?

Since nobody seems to have used Village Alarms the OP did get some alternatives and thoughts from others. Is it better to get no answers?

If you've never heard of the business, offering an alternative is not helpful?
I'll remember that the next time you ask for help...

We originally put an alarm in with Brighthouse.
They then got out of the business.
We then had The Villages Alarm install a new system a few
years ago. They did a great job & I would recommend them.
We have always had an alarm and it gives you peace of
mind.

I have simply safe
If there is a fire the fire department is alerted by simply safe
If a pipe breaks while we are away or asleep, we are alerted
The smoke alarms installed in my home by the builder are activated by heat
Todays materials generate toxic smoke well before enough heat is generated to set off the fire alarms installed by the builder
My smoke alarms are sensitive to smoke
In my opinion everyone needs an alarm system that notify the fire department
It might save your house or more importantly your life
SimpliSafe is relatively inexpensive

We have had Simply Safe for many years. It’s very easy to install and setup. The price for full monitoring is about $26 a month less than half the other companies. You can add a Ring type doorbell camera and even a keypad lock. Comes with fobs as well. But the best part is you can operate everything off of your smart phone.
Rated. AA+ by me.

They are not owned by the villages and Andrea is very nice 352 446-0278. If this is the company you are talking about. We are connected to fire and 911 and it is our peace of mind.

We used Xfinity for cameras and monitoring it provides us peace of mind when we travel. We are happy with the App and the ability to view the cameras from our cell phones and also control the arming etc.

SimpliSafe is relatively inexpensive I’ve been retired for 24 years much of my life (40) years was spent outside the country helping either to keep bad governments in power or to put bad rebels into power lol , it was dangerous and fun , but I don’t think a house fire is part of my Karma and a broken pipe may or may not be a bad thing, I guess it depends on how old your flooring is and how good your insurance

We installed an alarm system with Village Alarm and have been very satisfied with the service. No tech issues have arisen except the need to occasionally replace batteries in the sensors (true of any system). It’s nice having someone local to call, and their response has always been very speedy.

If you no longer have a land line, how does the system alert the fire department?
Skip

Some have a cellphone module built into the system, some use the internet...

Used them twice for both security systems and surveillance cameras out side the home; wouldn’t use anyone else besides them.
