Any recommendations for a local Ford dealer for some Warranty work? Moved here recently and have a Ford warranty and need to get some work done, thanks.

I recommend Village Ford. They are very good. I don't like doing business with Key Scales.

We use Prestige Ford of Mount Dora for all service. Key Scales Ford tried to charge a dealer mark up when we were paying off our lease.

Actually, you can pay off your lease directly to Ford Corp. and save the hassle of going to a dealer.

Highly recommend Village Ford. Their service dept is excellent.
If you call ahead they will reserve a loaner. See JayAny recommendations for a local Ford dealer for some Warranty work? Moved here recently and have a Ford warranty and need to get some work done, thanks.

I would not recommend any of the local Ford dealers for repairs. Good luck.

All dealerships are a ripoff, especially now that electronic parts are coded to only allow a dealer to install with their computer….

If it's warranty work go to either of the above. If it's something else like maintenance oil changes brakes tires there are several others on here that you can search for like Wildwood tire or others . I have a Buick currently and the corporate dealer charged me $50 for a fast oil change whereas pep boys or Walmart will charge around 30. Last I'll go ever.

Do NOT use Key Scales Ford in Leesburg. What’s a good word?…slimy?
I bought by wife’s car from Ocala Ford Lincoln and have it serviced by Plaza Lincoln across from the Leesburg airport. Call either Bobby Adams or Kristi Bernhardt in their service. department.

I use Prestige Ford in Mt. Dora. I made a service appointment with Key Scales, waited 3 weeks, when my service date came they wanted me to leave the car for 3 days. At that point, I said this is a ripoff and called Prestige Ford. They got me an appointment in 2 weeks and identified the problem and fixed it the next day, after receiving parts.

DO NOT use Scales Ford. Poorly run and poorly managed. Unskilled and NO desire to help the customer. Have had nothing but poor service at Scales. Yes....it is the closest but they lack the customer care that is needed for the Villages customers.

Not warranty work but my experience:
I had a severe oil leak and Key Scales wouldn't get me in for 3 weeks to check it out. Took the car to Sumter Tire same day and they found the drain plug was loose. The previous oil change was about 500 miles before that at Key Scales. Key obviously wouldn't accept blame but paid for the Sumter Tire service cost after I called and explained what was found.

I use the Ford Dealer in Belleview for my F-250. They have always been fine, I've use them for various trucks for 20 years. The dealership has a nice waiting room, TV, and donuts <g>

I highly recommend Gary Yeoman's Ford - this used to be Villages Ford. They are a bit further to drive but I have received outstanding (and quick) service at the Quick Lane there as well as warranty work in the Ford shop. I recently had my air bag replaced and I needed another small part (which I had previously ordered and paid for) put on my car, and the technician put it on and they did not charge me anything to do it. I have an Edge I have been driving for 12 years! Best car ever, and always serviced at Ford dealers everywhere I've lived. Try Yeoman's - you will not be disappointed. (btw - Key Scales doesn't have a Quick Lane)

I see all Ford dealers are good, by reading the comments! This is what you get when anybody ask to get anything done. I say go to who you want & if you don’t like them don’t go back there again. No matter if someone doesn’t like someone, someone else thinks they’re the best. I personally I think you have a bunch of good choices here. Call the BBB & they will have a sheet with dealers that have bad reports. Good Luck!

I took an AC problem to Key Scales. They charged $150 for diagnostics. Kept my car for three weeks. They said they would have to tear out the dash for hundreds of dollars extra. I took my car out and took it to accuraso in Oxford. They fixed it for $150 (or so). I wrote to the owner of Key Scales and told them how terrible their service department. I recommended she fire the service manager and get someone competent in. I told her I was giving her invaluable feed back for the $150 diagnostic fee. She responded, "No. I am keeping your money.
Key Scales is the worst of the worst. Never take a car there for service. You do not have to take your Ford to a Ford dealer for any kind of service. If you feel you must go to a Ford Dealer, drive as far as you have to to avoid Key Scales. They are a bad dealer. They owner knows they are a bad company and refuses to fix the problem.

When I first moved to TV about 4 years ago I contacted Key Scales for recall work. All I got was a sales pitch for a new vehicle. It was constant. Went to Ocala Ford and was completely satisfied. Since then Ocala Ford bought out Village Ford which was great also. Since then Ocala and Village have changed ownership. The problem with Village Ford is long lead time.

I disagree, Village Ford (now with a new name) just south of Belleview is excellent.

Had a bad experience at Key Scales...will never go back and spoke to the general manager about my experience.....you should be able to take it to the Lincoln dealership or Villages Ford

Stay away from Tropical Ford in Orlando, yes I know that is somewhat of a hike. A few years ago I was in Orlando on vacation and "stupidly" asked them to check a tire noise I had. It turns out they replaced all the wheel bearings at the tune of $2,300. The problem ended up being just normal tire harmonics on a concrete freeway. That's when I vowed never to buy a Ford from anyone again.

Over the years I’ve brought two fords new. Never had problem with them . Brought 3 GM product new, all three had problems before warranty was out. Brought new dodge truck never had problem with it. Currently I have 10 year old Accord never had problem with it yet.

I used to own a Ford Contour. I sold it years ago but I dealt with Key Scales Ford and found them to be honest and reliable. Not sure of them today. I haven't been there in 10-15 years.

That is true of so many things. Your car no matter what the brand is a computer on wheels. A computer? Imagine putting a computer in the hot engine compartment, throw in vibration, pot holes etc. Then, add in pollution controls, you cannot substitute, legally a non approved part.
The reliability is truly amazing. In the not that long ago days, you would need a tune up, plugs, points, adjust the carb, every 10,000 or so miles. You would change the oil very 2-3,000 miles. Oh and my VW got 30 mpg with a stick shift. My far more comfortable Chevy Malibu does that and more with an automatic and AC.
