Many of the people that live on or near Clearview Avenue are concerned about the entrance to the First Responders recreation center. This video will explain why.

When the AAC bought the land, part of the deal with the church selling the land was that only golf carts would be allowed to enter from Clearview; cars, as noted in the video, would have to enter from 42. As of this morning, there is no indication of what signage will be at the Clearview entrance indicating that cars cannot go up the hill. At the AAC meeting tomorrow if nobody else brings it up, I will.

I talked to Bruce Brown, assistant district manager and head of District Property Management. He said signage was an end-of-project consideration and they weren't quite there yet. However, I noted that there is a sign right before the entrance to the rec center that currently says "carts merge with vehicular traffic," and noted that it would need to be changed to something along the lines of "carts only cars use CR 42." He agreed. He said there could be signage at the turnaround slot right before the sign.
Another consideration would be adequate signs on 42 indicating the entrance.
Finally, given that some/many people would punch in the address to their navigation system, I asked him what the address of the rec center was. He didn't know off the top of his head, though he was pretty sure it wasn't either a Clearview or 42 address. If it is something else, it would presumably be on the road in from 42, so the nav systems wouldn't direct people up Clearview.
Once construction is complete (in the next week or so) and it is turned over to the recreation department, they can start thinking about detail like signage. I would expect to have a good idea of what will be in place at June's AAC meeting.
