Not as if contractor was parking overnight.
If I was going out, I would have just asked the person to let me out.

Ahhhh, classic PIP posting. Previously Important Person. I demand the police drop everything they're doing and respond to my incredibly minor complaint IMMEDIATELY!!! I'm p*ssed off because the landscaper dared to tell me to "F*ck Off!"
If they don't I'm going to make the obligatory donut joke, and post about my whinging in my favorite online forum, and then I'm going to follow-up with an "I pay your salary!" claim.
Yeah- your share of the entire county's taxes broken all the way down is between one quarter and one dollar per police officer's salary. Here's your fricken quarter back, geeez.

Agree. Have the police show up once or twice and maybe they'll stop doing that. I have had contractors half block my driveway many times and they are always facing the wrong direction so when they get out of their trucks they generally are standing on one of my irrigation heads, on one occasion they actually had their tire parked on my irrigation head which was destroyed and no they would not pay for it. I have politely asked them to move, some do and some don't give a crap. I've also found them filling their equipment gas tanks on my lawn and that is a definite no-no. The larger companies don't do this but the small one truck independents that are here today and gone tomorrow are the ones that don't care about anything but getting paid. My neighbor had a moving truck blocking their driveway, it was a van type trailer towed behind a box truck and they refused to move it so he called the police, the police showed up and they got a ticket for expired plates, and promptly moved it. The neighbor also called the company and let them know exactly what happened and why it happened.

Sorry have to disagree with you on this one.
The truck was blocking 80% of the driveway and that is wrong. If they guy had something to deliver and said give me a few minutes to unload than all is well but to just leave the truck blocking the driveway is just wrong.

I agree we just can’t let the inmates start running the asylum. There is always somewhere to park (not blocking a driveway )even though it may be a little less convenient . The culdesac homes are the toughest because there is very little road frontage that isn’t driveway and courtyard villa hoods are tight too. When Amazon delivers they pull in front of the driveway but they are only there a few seconds. What bothers me about them is they will turn around in a neighbor’s driveway

Excellent suggestion.
Service companies make their living by providing--well--service. A report about an employee alienating potential customers is not going to be well-received by the company who is providing the employment.
Good idea though to make the report calmly and reasonably, perhaps even from a perspective of trying to help the company by pointing out that such activity is really bad PR. I suspect that too many people take the opposite approach, with their anger (possibly expressed by yelling and profanity) at the forefront. That may have worked back home (wherever "back home" might be) but it is precisely the WRONG approach in Florida. Politeness and civility go a long way here.

I don't believe he was so nice. His attitude shows he was most likely an entitled jerk.
We have chosen to live in a highly congested area with little street parking. From time to time parking conflicts will occur. I have found service people to be apologetic if their vehicles are in any way blocking (I live in a new neighborhood, lots of work trucks and deliveries). I tell them not to worry about it, as I am able to maneuver my vehicles around theirs should I need to leave.
In any case, I would call 911 if I needed the police. Tell them it's not an emergency.

A better solution than calling police would be to snap a pic of driveway violation and add name of business and their response to you. That way we all know who NOT to hire in the future. IMHO. I would not hire a person who speaks that way to another villager.

We mover here in 2016 and our house was the first one built on our cul-de-sac.
Several months later, they started building new houses on the cul-de-sac and there were a lot of trucks parked there. When someone parked blocking our driveway, I would tell them to move.
Sometimes I would not see them until after they had parked blocking our driveway. I would go around to the houses under construction trying to find who parked in front of our driveway, but no one would admit to doing it. I also called the Warranty Office, but they would not do anything about it.
Finally, I called the Wildwood Police and they came out pretty quickly. As soon as the Police car appeared, all of the workers seemed to vanish, except for the worker who had parked their vehicle in front of our driveway. He came out, talked with the Police Officer, and immediately moved his vehicle.
After that, no one parked blocking our driveway.

Seeing how NONE of us were there, except the OP (if the incident really occurred), we have no way of knowing how many vehicles and trailers were parked on the street. I know from my jobs, there is often very limited parking on some of the jobsites, and its a juggling act to make sure driveways stay clear.

Our new neighbors recently had some major work done at their home. I came home one day to find a trailer partially blocking our driveway. Could I pull in? Yes. Did it ruin my whole day? No. Could I have gone over and asked them to move? Yes. And I'm sure they would've without delay. Live and let live.
I chalk it up to growing pains, which we all go through. Since we live on a culdesac, it's extremely tough to park trucks and trailers without causing a minor inconvenience.

As a retired cop I can tell you that just about every police department has an automated phone system for when you call the non-emergency main headquarters number. The days of a Sergeant sitting behind a big desk in the lobby, along with an officer to answer phones, are no more. There's usually a number for dispatch that you can call to have an officer respond or call you for information. Most 911 centers don't have officers in them either, the call taker / dispatchers handle all the calls and dispatch accordingly based on priority.
Also, not a lot of donuts anymore either. These young cops come in with protein shakes, salads, and iced coffees. Horrible

That’s all well and good if it’s only a couple of trucks and the customers house happens to be on a culdesac. Try working at villas or other areas here that don’t have that kind of space. It’s a challenge. Especially when pulling trailers

Back in the world I worked with a number of law-enforcement officers. Almost to a person, they were compassionate people who treated people more than fairly, and who often were called upon to risk their lives for not much money. But cops in general comprise a profession that is a lightning-rod for the public. People have strong opinions about them one way or the other.
The best thing a cop can hear is silence. If anything questionable happens--even if in the end it proves to be totally on the up-and-up--you can bet the farm that the cop's name and agency, together with a story that always is of questionable validity, all over the paper the next day.

That’s all well and good if it’s only a couple of trucks and the customers house happens to be on a culdesac. Try working at villas or other areas here that don’t have that kind of space. It’s a challenge. Especially when pulling trailers
Yes, I see your point.

someone was blocking my driveway [ landscaper ] i ask him to please move his truck as it was blocking 80 % of my drive and he told me to f###off. well i tried to call wildwood police at 352 330 1355. well i got the push number 5 if you want donuts , push number 1 if you want what ever.... no live person to talk to , what a world we live in , it stinks
FYI - their is a movement under way aimed at the noise and air pollution created by landscapers. Be part of the solution help curtail these businesses by putting a clamp on their actions!

If you don't press any numbers, after about 15 seconds it will ring thru to dispatch but they will handle it like a 911 call so be sure to say it is a non-emergency situation. Ummm don't ask me how I know this lol.

Sorry have to disagree with you on this one.
The truck was blocking 80% of the driveway and that is wrong. If they guy had something to deliver and said give me a few minutes to unload than all is well but to just leave the truck blocking the driveway is just wrong.
I am with you on this one.
Why is the original poster the problem in this scenario?
The landscaper should not park in front of anyones driveway.
Then he tells him to F off?
This New Yorker would have lost it.

No, we could take care of our own yards using battery-operated tools and lawnmowers. Or we could live in a future-minded community that demanded that the worker bees not use noisy, polluting, gasoline-powered equipment. That WILL happen in the future. It would just be nice if today's homeowners would begin that transition so that equipment manufacturers would start producing more battery-operated large riding lawnmowers. Maybe the cost of a gallon of gasoline needs to go to $10 to get people to act responsibly.

Perhaps check out what is involved in the manufacture and eventual disposal of lithium batteries.

Worked hard all my life so as to be able to have people to do the jobs I no longer wish to do and are able to pay to have done.
My guess is that commercial landscaping power would need lawn mowers that could operate on a longer charge than what is now available.
BTW also not going to purchase an electric car until I can go say 500 miles on a single charge and can get a quick charge along the way to our destination. And at a price I can live with. That day will come but not quite here yet.

You mean like Leonardo DiCaprio, UN global ambassador for global warming flying everywhere in a private jet with his Hollywierd friends?????
or
Jim Carrey singing a ditty making fun of Charlton Heston and the NRA while being protected by armed guards??????

That IS a problem today. But, technology likely will come to the rescue. I know that there is a company that was recently formed to create a new type of battery consisting of all-solid-state tiny cells linked together. Battery-powered motors in cars and tools have several advantages. They have high torque. Also, they spin continuously in a circle which is efficient. Gasoline-powered vehicle motors use straight-line reciprocating motion (of start, stop, reverse) using pistons which MUST then be changed into circular motion and needs an inefficient transmission to provide for torque.
Also, gas engines pollute at MULTIPLE small sources. But, electricity can be generated at larger and fewer sources, thus easier to control any pollution. Small gas engines like golf carts are particularly problematic, also gas riding lawnmowers - really outdated and NOT future oriented!

We agree that the day will come. In the future, commercial lawn workers will carry multiple batteries in order to have enough electrical power for the day. They could charge during their lunch, also if they so chose.
I prefer to cut my own lawn because I don't trust the honesty of people that are unlicensed and may be tipping off their friends as to which home would be best to rob. If you would not invite them to dinner, then maybe you should not have them riding around your yard. I have had my home broken into (even here in bubble-paradise).

Actually, I do. And have for years. Had a plug-in A/C electrical lawn mower in 1965 and cut my 1/2 acre lot with it. Just had to be careful not to run over the extension cord. It was powerful and QUIET and it started 100% of the time - something no one can say for their gas mowers (and they are noisy and smelly).
.........So basically I had GREAT advantages using electrical mowers and motors as far back as 1965.
