The first Canadian Club meeting of the season will be held Wednesday, 10 Nov 2010, at the Paradise Rec Center in the historic section of The Villages starting at 7PM. Looking for new members who can say "eh" and know about real winters.
The Canadian Club meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month from now through April.
Annual memberships are available for $5.

Eh there !
Glad to see some of the frozen folks:cold: down here getting together to thaw out. I see the club only meets to April. Any other Canadians down here through the summer who would like to continue meeting?
We have been here since February but haven't been very social. Just chillin'...ok, thawin', and just found this today after someone mentioned there was a Canadian club, so just curious!

Oh.....whoops.....nevermind......
Even though I am STILL not officially in TV, I always like looking at the wonderful availability of so many clubs. Something for everybody.
The wide variety of clubs is interesting to me because I am a terrible golfer who dances like Elaine does on Seinfeld. Sad to witness.
So anyway, when I saw your thread titled "Canadian Club Meeting 10 November," I thought.....well, sometimes I do like the stuff -- with 7.
But now, I see that I am not eligible. Oh well....have fun without me. (sigh)

I realize that the website link posted was tongue in cheek (or perhaps tongue in glass) but here is the real link to The Villages Canadian Club website:

Sorry for the joke but all I could think about was Canadian Club Whiskey.
I wish your club much success. You have to love the moose.
Think of it as Indiana humor.

I am a member of the Canadian Club which meets at Paradise. I've enjoyed their meetings and made new friends.
You may also want to check out another social club for Canadians, the new "Loonies and Toonies" Social Club. The Loonies just started their club in the Spring of 2011 and already have 309 paid members!

Hey Frannie. You're absolutely right. The new Loonies and Toonies Club is also meeting Nov 9 at La Hacienda for the "kick-off" meeting, which should be great! I think we have around 200 members.
It is extremely unfortunate that both Clubs meet the same night. Apparently the Recreation Department wants similar interest clubs to meet at the same time, which I thinks is nutty, but I don't make up the rules. I'm a member of the Canadian Club and would like to also attend that meeting.
Hope to meet up with you soon! I wonder when most Canadian Snowbirds or Seasonal Residents will be arriving on Campus.

While I am not full blooded, I did spend May through August in Fort Erie (Crescent Beach) for 20 years which kinda makes me 1/3 Canadian. The reason for this out of topic reply is when my Dad died we found in his desk an envelope containing Canadian paper money wrapped in a letter stating "devil in the Queen's hair". It took awhile to find what he was talking about but sure enough in the Queen's hair on the right side the curls make what I guess could be interpreted as a picture of something. You can clearly see eyes, nose and mouth. These bills are dated 1954 coincidently the year I was born. While I am not "Rosemary's baby" I wonder if he had a premonition. Anyway, are these bills worth something to collectors? The denominitions are $1, $2, $10 and $20. I would be happy to show them when we arrive in mid September.
