Recently, a Lake County resident met with a Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputy and reported that they had been scammed into sending $20,000 in cash to an individual posing as a PayPal employee. who the heck would send $20K to someone that they really didn't know...well I guess this one person did

The reason those scams proliferate in TV is because people fall for them. And older people seem to be a bit more easily scammed than the general population. More prone to panic, maybe?

or possibly not up to date on the various deceptive practices these guys use. some of them go to great lengths to scam people; it makes you wonder what they could do if they set their minds to good use for a change

Oh come on. There are a lot of folks around here who have beginning dementia and don't have anyone helping them. They are not suckers, they are ill.
