Amazing picture! I heard on news there was a funnel cloud spotted over TV! Question, do you you know of a good spot to watch the lunar eclipse tonight 5/15 around here? Really appreciate it - we are planning to stay up to watch it! Thanks for input in advance!

I was curious if there was a special name for a cloud that looks like a tornado, but didn't result in one so I reached out to @AndrewNBC12 on Twitter. He is a local meteorologist with the NBC station in Richmond, VA. Andrew responded with a common-sense response " a tornado that doesn't touchdown is called a funnel cloud." I now feel a little silly asking. I know that if I had seen this in person, I would have thought it was special.

I believe that is called a scud cloud. They are usually formed from a downdraft on a leading edge of a thunderstorm. They have an appearance of a funnel cloud but no rotation.

This was a funnel cloud and did have rotation, I video-taped it and sent to Sheriff's office. Also, the News channels and NewsWAtch indicated the National Weather Service declared it a funnel cloud

Not Weird but a rocket went up from Cape Canaveral. Looks like the smoke from the rocket.
