In my days the worst we would do is sneak a bottle of booze into school. My how the times are a changing.

Worst thing we did was smoke in the boys room and cut a few classes.

Yep, I never considered Leesburg safe. Gang activity is probably after dark, but watch out for the summer months when they are really bored.

I had a gun at school every day as I shot on the rifle team. From October to December I had either a bow or a shotgun in my truck as we would deer hunt as soon as we got out of school. This was the early 80's

It's like we live on a different planet.
(I wonder if they have to do a pregnancy test these days before taking boys to the department of juvenile justice?)

Ohhh, not good, ouch! Wonder if mom & dad will be responsible for him since he’s under 18.

One "misguided youth" down and thousands yet to go. Thank goodness for the teacher's action in bringing attention to the actions of these three. All involved probably prevented a homicide from taking place. Too many guns, too many gangster wannabes using them.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I doubt if there is a dad in the household. 85% of the male prison population come from homes where a father was not present, so this kid is well on his way to upping that percentage.

I disagree. It’s clearly a lack of thoughts and prayers.

Obviously we need to look at every case individually but....the odds are definitely with your assessment.

Wife and I get our small town newspaper up north and they showed the high school graduation pictures, and one student was holding hie deer rifle.........
We were surprised the school allowed that.

A cane pole & straw hat would be classier.

This is very true. Fatherlessness in a culture is directly proportional to the criminality of that culture. It's not some invisible man keeping anyone down.
Culture matters.

Very good idea. They have courses in family planning so why not gun safety...

Leesburg unsafe after dark ,where did you live before Mayberry, I’m downtown at night at least a couple of nights each month to eat and go to the gym in Leesburg 5 or 6 days a week and I’m 83

Maybe because there probably weren't any deer to hunt AT GRADUATION?
I mean unless it was Jimbob's Deer Hunting School.
Back on topic:
Good on that gun-toting kid! The NRA says he should exercise his freedom to carry! Everyone who supports 2A should be proud of him! The school should invite EVERYONE to carry, as is their right under federal and state law! A well armed militia! And of COURSE it should be loaded. How are they supposed to defend themselves against a tyrannical government without ammo? (Since that was the whole point of the 2nd Amendment in the first place)
