I use the one in Sumter Landing closest to Winn Dixie. I have a miserable infection that recurs regularly and I find they are excellent plus my doctor recommended them for weekend emergency.

Are they even open now? In previous years I used them also, because they had a real doctor and an x-ray machine (versus the one on the other end of the complex, that only had a NP and no machine), but I stopped by around 6:00pm a couple of months ago and they were dark and totally closed. At first I thought it was outside their working hours, but then read a bunch of political rantings taped to the door about being forced to close - that made it obvious someone was pretty mad. Almost like they had went off the deep end. I did have good luck at the one on 44, across the street and just east from Publix.

Must not be very “urgent” if you are asking on here.

Agree on this one. It’s now called Vizavee, used to be called 441 Urgent Care. Was there yesterday, good care. They sent me to Lake Medical imaging for X-ray, which is one bldg over. Also saw PA not doc if that makes a difference to you.

On 466a, just west of Buena Vista called Ocala Health ER now known as HCA ER. They have the best care around. If your problem is serious enough for hospitalization, you are taken to HCA/Ocala Health Hospital or HCA/West Marion Hospital. They apologize if you have to wait 20 minutes to be seen. They have doctors and machines on-site that are necessary for diagnosis and treatment. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

For Veterans using the VA there is a list of urgent care centers who partner with VA. Show the VA ID and the bill goes to VA. A list may be obtained at the Villages VA lobby volunteer desk.

Went there late one night for a cut finger that would not stop bleeding and they were very good.

A lot of good advice available on this site. Putting up a bat house can help. Bats can do a lot to take care of excess insects around your neighborhood. I had some bats who kept using my folded umbrella as a home. When I went to open the umbrella they would drop down and fly off. One time before a bad storm I brought the umbrella into the lanai. I thought they had stopped using the umbrella. Unfortunately later that evening my wife was jumping up from her chair as a bat was flying around her head. I finally closed the lanai doors when it flew back there, then I opened the lanai doors and it flew out. After that I put up a bat house. I thought they never used it as it appeared empty, but then early one morning I saw all these bats flying back into the house. I think I have about 20 small bats in there. I read a number of books and enjoy having bats nearby. Good luck to OP in solving their bat issue.

You are kind of sort of in the wrong thread but was an interesting post.

Check hours as many clinics are not open weekends or evenings. (In my experience all urgent problems happen on holidays or weekends ☺️). Then pick the one closest to home. Best of luck. Hope you never need it.

But HCA ER is an emergency room, not an Urgent Care facility, and charges accordingly. If a problem is minor it doesn't warrant full ER care.

However, In order to avoid sitting in the Villages Hospital ER for hours, I did go to the Ocala ER once near Del Webb on 441 and was transported from there to Ocala Regional Hospital, straight from the ER to a hospital room bed. Very impressed. That was before the ER on 466a opened.

We used to use Lake Regional Urgent Care at Lake Sumter Landing because of having a doctor there, Dr. Aich. But the facility suffered from lack of upkeep and new urgent care offices opened nearby.

Don't trust thus one. They mis-diagnosed A-fib a couple weeks ago. Ended up going to the emergency room on 466A. No A-Fib. Then to a heart Dr. to be sure. No A-Fib.

I tried to use Premier Urgent care in January. Had a minor infection and needed quick attention. Called to see if they were open and told them we were waiting for results of a covid test. The receptionist said "You can't come here. Go to the nearest hospital or emergency room. I said, are you sure. Typically I just go to urgent care and get an antibiotic. She said "you can't come here!"

We grabbed our masks, jumped in the car, and headed for Urgent care on 44 by Brownwood. I had a script within the hour. Dr. John, I believe. Very professional. BTW, we are patients of Premier Med A.

I've been going to the Urgent Care at Lake Sumter. Dr. Adam is there during the week and a woman doctor on weekends. Both very good and caring.

I am a recently retired VA primary care R.N. and also worked in the telephone triage call center at my former R.I. VA facility before it became an expanded VISN call center. The VA call centers now take calls 24/7, and I encourage all Vets that have a health issue that is not life, limb, or vision threatening and their health issue arises especially during the times the clinics are open to call the call center. They will speak with a trained telephone triage nurse who will determine the urgency of their issue and disposition accordingly which could be scheduling a same day in person, video, or telephone appointment with the Vet's PCP or specialty provider depending on the circumstances. Or they may direct the Vet to their VA urgent care or ER if one is in close proximity to the Vet. If the triage nurse directs the Vet to a private urgent care center or ER they can faciliate access and expedite care by calling over report to that urgent care or ER as well as provide pertinent medical data on the Vet as they have access the the Vet's electronic medical record and within seconds can pull up recent lab, EKG, x-ray results, med profile, etc. which can be vitally important to a private healthcare facility that will be treating the Vet that do not have immediate access to this info. And if the Vet is experiencing a mental heath issue they will get an immediate telephone handoff to a VA mental health provider trained in mental health crisis intervention.

In the twelve years I have been a member of TOTV, I have found several dentists, doctors and urgent care sights recommended. Very helpful, especially when one has many recommendations.

It is the place I start. Then decide.

I'm thinking it's much better than asking Google.
