Awoke to find this bug crawling across sunroom floor. Whitish color with a black appendage on either end. At first, I thought it might be a leaf but then noticed it move.
My wife suggested it might be something like a silverfish larva (something to do with the heavy rain). In any event, it has joined the great outdoors.

It looks like a cocoon of some sort with an insect inside?

There definitely is a retractable appendage on both ends. I inspected the white part with a magnifying glass a seem to detect multiple appendages on the bottom. It definitely was moving across the floor on its own accord.

Resembles a bag worm but hard to tell from pic. Worm cocoons it’s self in vegetation and attaches to plant with one end with other end open to worm head for feeding.
