Tile Backsplash OTR Microwave

We are doing a kitchen remodel with new cabinets,countertops and appliances.
Do we install the over the range microwave and then do the tile backsplash or tile behind the microwave and then install the microwave? Thank you for your comments .

If you are having a tile guy do the job why not ask him?

You will need to drill holes in the tile if you install this first to mount the microwave. For some reason I have always seen the tiling done after the microwave and cabinets were installed.

We had the tile backsplash installed after we moved in. Microwave was NOT removed in the process & everything turned out fine. Looks beautiful. Billy Parker did our work. 352 3470954, licensed & insured. Tile selected from Lowes. Billy does great work, cleans up neatly, was on time as he stated.
