This might not be a bad thing. I have used many clubs across the nation in my travels, and quite honestly I was never impressed with the MVP clubs. I thought they were marginally equipped with relatively old equipment. Hopefully the new owners will put some investment in them. The best clubs I have used are the Lifetime Fitness ones.

Supposed to be a seamless transition for patrons. Today is day 1 under Genesis. No ability to sign into web site and reserve classes. I'm sure it's coming, but not seamless.

Wait until you see Genesis BBB report.

I was there for a class yesterday, June 1. I was told there will no longer be a reservation system, so it’s get in line and hope to get a spot. Should be okay for the summer, don’t know about season. I joined MVP so I wouldn’t have to get there an hour early and get in line, like the rec centers. I’m paying, so I’ll probably quit in the fall since I am only interested in group classes.

They say there will be a reservation system. It says "coming soon" on the website. If this transition was truly supposed to be seamless, they would have had this done prior to the changeover.

Do you know if they will accept (or not) the same senior groups (Silver Sneakers and similar) for membership as MVP did?

They claim there will be no changes to that.

We went there some months ago and was told they did not accept Silver Sneakers. Did something change?

If you use UHC it is called RenewActive and MVP did accept it and presumably Genesis will also. They told me nothing would change with my membership.

My wife contacted them about the Silver Sneakers. They confirmed they are part of the Silver Sneakers program.

I just called about Silver Sneakers also. They said they take Silver Sneakers from United Healthcare and Blue Cross, but not from Aetna.

Just a heads up you can join more than one gym with Silver Sneakers Active Renew. Anytime fitness on 466 is open 24/7 and accept both insurances.

I don’t like that they took away the palm reader ID entry. One more card to carry in the wallet, and possibly lose. I also loved the online schedule and ability to reserve a spot in classes. Seems like a step backwards to me.

How about the phone reader?
