God willing my wife and I will land in TV but until then this was our fourth year spending the month May, what a blast we had. Highs were "The Hooligans," a gator in the yard, Mallory Hill country club, Cody's Brownwood, Mark Seymour, Bealls outlet for my wife, Sand Hill executive course, Russell Stover salted caramel ice cream sundae and putting course at sunset by Southern Oaks. Eighteen rounds of golf on 6 country clubs, ten executive courses, daily pool visits, too many golf cart rides to mention, every square for music and to people watch... Lows were the guy who hit a golf ball into us on Turtle Mound twice (we were waiting too jerk), House prices too high to buy this time, being passed by a speedy golf cart on Hillsborough trail as we were merging close call, water tower and windmill taken down at Brownwood, and the drivers on I75 and the turnpike I can see why Florida was rated fifth worst drivers in the world a few years ago. Keep our community warm and safe for us until the next time.

Have a great day!

More highs than lows on your T chart. That's a good sign for the other months.

Indeed, if he was buying a $5,000 home.

Why would you even say something like that?

How does somebody hit into you on an all par 3 course? Did he not have his glasses on or were your tee shots way wide ?

Ok so do you understand down payment? Also this guy was here probably renting a house for a month, playing golf at $64 a pop x2 (wife also) x10 rounds plus eating out (references that) and wife shopping. $5000 dollar house my @$$ he dropped $5000 here.

Gee, no. Somehow I got to be 70 years old and never understood the idea of a down payment. Thanks for explaining it to me.
I wasn't counting eating out and golf and "wife shopping" since that is immaterial to the process of buying a home. However, even if you count those things, 5K is 20% of 25K. Nice houses here abound for 25K, for sure.
Or, maybe he pays a few extra points and gets a 5% down mortgage, he can now buy a 100K home. Lots of those available in TV now as well.

Next time I need a life coach, I'll be sure to PM you.

My wife and I were lucky enough to be exposed to TV around 2007 when friends of ours from Upstate NY bought in Largo, and had us visit several times. Wife wasn't sure it was THE PLACE for her, so we rented for 3 winter seasons before we actually bought. Renting is not a bad deal. By the time you pay for maintenance, taxes, amenities, furniture, insurance etc etc you can rent for 3 or 4 months and be well under the monthly drain of a second home in TV.
However you miss out on any property value increase (which isn't guaranteed, of course), but what we found even more troubling was the difficulty of finding rentals in the high season, which is when we really wanted to be here.
We are now in TV 7+months of the year. We love it. Glad we did it. But we are also very glad we rented those years to be sure it's what we wanted, and we learned a lot about what Villages and locations were best for us.

I'm glad you enjoyed your month here. We've spent 4 full winters here now, and we feel we are still learning about new opportunities for activities. I came for golf, then found pickleball, and last winter discovered I love the lap swimming in the sports pools. There is definitely more to do than there is time available.

Good luck with your dream.

How about if I read YOUR post, to which I was responding, "Ace".

"THE MONTH OF MAY"....that's one month, ACE.
And why do you care?
Those 4 years he did his renting he was not in TV 44 months. That's 44 months not paying taxes, amenity fees, etc etc etc.

OP brings back fond memories of my wife and I visiting TV for five straight years during March and April, before we moved here. As a visitor, we went to every show and attended every club meeting we could. And there was always the nights at the squares, dinner out most nights including Katie Belles, and free golf. ( I know now it's not really free) But those were the days!
We still do clubs, shows and dinner out, but not nearly as often. It's still a great place, but it's home now and everything has a familiar, been-there-done that perspective.
Just saying, visiting is different than living here, but both are great!

I agree. Great place to visit, even better place to live, IMO. We came back in October, and didn't go to the squares for music until April when we started having warm nights after the cool winter. We were reminded how good the bands were, and how pleasant it is on a warm evening. Kind of like finding it new all over again.

The month of May for four years! Don’t start talking about how much money he would have spent on a house because if he had saved that rental money and expenditures FOR FOUR YEARS rather than coming here and blowing it he would just now be buying said house so your argument is irrelevant

The guy was standing on the tee and his ball rolled across my feet four feet from the green. Some folks are just eh, Ignorant, but one bad apple does not a day make.

Just curious if there is a “go fund me “ account associated with this OP. I know for one I am willing to give $5 to get another resident that can’t quite afford it yet. Of course I would need to know their qualifications for negotiating roundabouts, picking up dog poop and most importantly never (AND I MEAN NEVER) ) putting a white cross in their front yard( although I have one in my front yard) !

People are people. One of my friends has said as they get older they do not get better they get worse. Weak self esteem people seem to have the need to inform others how bright they are and how stupid others are. Hearing? What did they say? Of any value.

Far as SHOPPING, Belles-the Men's section sit in the corner and shut up while your wife shops.
