My floor mat for my Yamaha golf cart slides around on the floorboard. I was thinking of adding some velcro strips to keep them in place. Have any of you tried this? If so, did it work well? If not, what are some other methods that you use to keep the mat down?

We got a good and relatively inexpensive aftermarket floor mat online that is specifically designed for a Yamaha and it doesn’t slide around at all..

We bought this three years ago and it is perfect.

Ours came with plastic plugs to hold the mat in place, they worked great until i had to remove one. Then i had problems finding a replacement. I eventually just put is a washer and bolt.

Does it slide around at all? I saw that one on Amazon. Are you doing anything to hold it down?

It does not slide around in the least. Plus, it's easy to remove and rinse off.

I tried the Velcro method and the results were not so good, it didn’t seem to stick very well to the floor. Try (xtrememats.com) 321-277-7463 they are located in Orlando and their mats are heavier and attach with clips. Hope this helps.

My floor mat does not concern me so I can’t offer any important feedback.

I just ordered the Club Clean mat from Amazon. Thanks for all your suggestions everyone.

Take the mat out. You don't need it. Without the mat, the sand and grass from the golf course will blow out on the way home. After all it's a rubber mat covering a rubber mat.

Take the mat off and you will see the push in clip pins and note that there is a place on the mat that these are referenced. Put the mat back and pop out the clips and slice a little slit in mat and pop out center push pin and remove it and push it through the slit and back into the clip.

I like the older style matt that is made from recycled tires. It does not move and hides the dirt. Came standard on my 2017 Yamaha. Still looks great!

Those things are about an inch plus thick and take up valuable space if you are tall.

I have a floor mat in my cart for the same reason I have Weathertech mats in my vehicle. It saves the wear and tear on the flooring.

Yup...

Plus, the cart's original flooring can be slippery when wet...

They sell the plastic plugs at Harbor Freight.

I got this one from Amazon. About $75.
Already precut with holes to put in the floor mat rivets...

Looks like it's only made for one brand of cart. Not sure what the cart is in their product info. Possibly a Club Car? Certainly not a Yamaha.

Have the same mat. Carts and cars applied snaps to the mat and floor. Map is easy to unsnap and clean.

Villages golf 2017 gave me a rubber mat like a door mat I asked about one and they said a guy made them and he died. I bought a oversized door mat like them and cut it to fit you just need a way to cap the cut wires - I used wire nuts

I looked earlier and didn’t see any for Yamahas.
