The Container Store in Orlando helps you design a custom closet with Elfa closet systems, and they install it (for a price). Not cheap but I really like mine; units are modular and the next owner can rearrange the drawers/shelves/hanging racks to suit themselves.

We simply rearranged and added to the builder supplied wire shelving. The result was 2 levels of shelving in the closets, with lots of shelf space and hanger space. I did add one piece of DIY assembly furniture from Home Depot that gave me 3 drawers, one low shelf, and 3 high shelves. This arrangement has worked great for almost 10 years. This was in a Gardenia with the 2 closets off the hallway to the bathroom.

Thank you! I do love the Container Store!
I used the Elfa system in my garage in Virginia. You just attach a horizontal bracket near the ceiling and everything hangs from it. Very easy and totally flexible. I was skeptical of the hardware that attaches directly to the drywall, but it was strong enough to hold as much weight as I needed. No need to locate the studs.

Alittle off topic but can't help it. When I relocated to The Villages I had two precious boxes I stored in my so-called friends storage closet in their home until I got settled. Went to retrieve 6 months later and they were GONE?? Whatever you decide store YOUR items in YOUR closet only!
