Last night I saw Andy Griffith on a commercial for some kind of health insurance. I actually sat forward in my chair to see if it was really him. He looked 180 years old. Actually he's 84.
The reason it struck me so was that when he was a young man, I was a young man. I haven't changed but he sure has.
I was looking for Sheriff Taylor or Matlock, but couldn't find them.

My wife and I both said the same thing. We watch Andy Griffith (Sheriff Taylor) and Matlock all of the timee. Such a difference.

I haven't seen the commercial. But I always thought he was kind of an old-looking young man anyway.

If you look carefully you can see his old expressions in his face and he also kind of lifted his head when he finished saying something. I said the same thing also, he has really aged.

I saw the commercial and was quite surprised at how old he looked. I think part of the reason I was surprised is that I hadn't seen him in quite a few years so the transformation was really quite shocking.

Maybe he should visit TV and try one of the pools.

You wanna see young?
I'll show you young.
"No Time for Sergeants" - sometime in the 1950's
I just looked it up on Netflix to see if it is available. It is.
Here's a link to one of the scenes. Andy looks pretty daggone cute here.

Looks just like latrine duty at Ft Knox in the early 60's.

I was thinking that he may have had a stroke because he was slurring his words a little.

Or, Lackland AFB in the mid-60's. Not that I would know.:)
I thought Andy's speech was a little slurred too. Also wondered if his voice was dubbed in, maybe from another recording under better conditions.

I thought it was a little sad to see him that way

I wish this advertisement had not been put on the air. I'd just as soon remember him from his glory days and besides I have no use whatsoever for what he is promoting. Long live Mayberry.....

I've always thought that Don Knotts was one of the best physical comedians -- the facial expressions and body motions he made alway had me laughing.
Off topic, I know . . .
Actually, I thought he looked pretty good.

Hmmm... I was thinking "What the hell is Charles Laughton selling?"
