Are there any Fourth of July fireworks or celebrations planned in The Villages? If yes, where are they listed? Any ones near the villages (within 15 miles)?
Thanks!

Totally agree with you. I am extremely pleased there are not any firework displays in TV.

Is there a place to stand to see neighboring fireworks without actually being at event?

Do you recommend any of the events over others? Is there a place to see the fireworks without being in middle of crowd?
Thanks.

This will be the 1st 4th of July in my lifetime that I will miss the celebrations in my now former hometown of Bristol, R.I. which is known for having the oldest 4th of July celebration in the country. As part of the festivities is a long parade and theme is military, civic, and fire responders. As a now retired VA nurse when I was still working I would volunteer to march along side although most rode in cars and military vehicles the WWII Vets to provide them medical assistance if needed which was a great honor for me as with so few remaining I consider them national treasures. This I will miss but not the fireworks for the same reason you mentioned.

4th of July was huge in my hometown with a parade and events topped by a spectacular fireworks display. Was surprised here to begin with; there was basically nothing. It's gotten better but not nearly the same.

Not just animals have problems with the noise. Think about the veterans with PTSD. I am 100% happy that there are not any fireworks in TV.

Go to any high ground and look towards Leesburg and you may see their fireworks from there. I, for one, am glad they don't shoot them off here which doesn't make me unpatriotic. IF we wanted to really see them---we could gather some friends and go either to Leesburg, Mt. Dora, Ocala or any municipality in the area for them. The Villages has never displayed them. It might be the large number of veterans here, the liability but it's a moot point to even carry on about how it breaks "tradition" from where one used to live.

Last year, the fireworks at Venetian Park in Leesburg were awesome! They had a carnival event occurring in the area at Ski Beach Park. Lots of fun to socialize and people watch!! LOL

There might be a lot of different meanings about the fireworks at all. I, for my self, it is just a celebration to be so thankful to our country to be free and living in freedom.
Thank you.
